Big reason why there are so many prodigies at that time was because they grew up during wartime. I think this is part of the 2nd Great Ninja War if I remember right. Kakashi (as referenced in these episodes) became Chunin at 6y/o, Jonin at 12y/o, and(as shown previously) joined Anbu at 13y/o. Itachi was like 8yrs younger, so he was born but still prolly like 4-6y/o during this!

Nice Ron!!! You recognized Obito's name. The name has been dropped a few times throughout the past episodes. One of them would be in Naruto Ep 80 during the 3rd Hokage's funeral episode. Before Kakashi went to the 3rd Hokage's funeral, he was at the war heroes grave and then a lady also came to the war heroes grave to pay respects to Hayate. The lady then ask Kakashi if he was paying respect to Obito. The lady also told Kakashi instead of always being late why don't he just visit the grave earlier. Kakashi answered that he did. He visited the grave since dawn but every time he visits, it makes him think so many of his past mistakes that he stayed longer therefore he is always late. Fun fact: If you notice in the anime, Kakashi is always late. You know because he is always late to mission meetings and trainings and Naruto complains about it. And now we know why he is always late cause he was visiting Obito's grave everyday. Also, Obito said he was late because he ran into an old woman in trouble on his way and helped the old woman which is the excuse Kakashi uses in the present time when he is late from visiting Obito's grave everyday(when he is not away from the village on a mission).

The reason Orochimaru needed Sasuke's body instead of just ripping his eyes is because of the Kekkei Genkai. He technically could have had Kabuto surgically get the eyes from Sasuke in the Forest of Death but he wouldn't have had the natural buffs in attributes that an Uchiha body gives Sasuke and Itachi (Itachi explained this). We know Kakashi has the Mangekyou from the first arc of Shippuden. He used it during that arc for the first time while chasing Deidara. Also, Kakashi was always using the being late excuse from the moment we met him because he would always visit Obito's memorial before showing up for an activity. It was mentioned eventually back in OG Naruto but it was so long ago in the show it is easily forgettable on first watch or readthrough.

The chidori is such a high speed attack that the user gets tunnel vision and can’t see enemy counters. So the sharingan “perfected” the chidori because the heightened visual perception allows the user to see counter attacks bc you can see movements in essentially slow mo, as well as see the flow of chakra.

Kakashi can copied techniques because of the sharingan. Nobody can just copied technique without it. Uchiha eye are special not necessarily the person. Anyone with enough chakras to use the sharingan can use it. The sharingan is a tool. Only the uchiha are born with it but they are not the only one who can use it technically.

Just for some added info, theres stages to sharingan. 2 tamoe which obito had just unlocked. 3 tamoe, where sasuke is seen unlocking against Naruto’s tailed beast mode. mangekyo which has a unique appearance (itachi and kakashi’s mangekyos look different from eachother)

Yea Kakashi used Mangekyo vs Deidara in the gara retreival mission. Difference with Kakashi having sharigan is he isn’t a Uchia so his stamina isn’t capable of using the sharigan constalty. Hence why he was in the hospital for so long.

2 things. 1- As I’m sure a bunch of people have mentioned before, the name Obito has been mentioned once by Kakashi in OG Naruto, when he was visiting his grave before the third hokages funeral. You can go back and look if you want. 2- the reason it may seem like they are more prodigies is because due to war, whenever a kid would show signs of talent they would enlist them as a genin, and later chunin if that applied. Whereas nowadays, even for a talented guy like sasuke who could do a huge fireball jutsu at the age of 8-10, he would have to wait till he was 12-13 to become a genin. Also don’t forget that there were guys like Rock Lee and Neji too who were extremely powerful at the age of 13.

Obito giving his eye to Kakashi is just like the reason behind Hinata's kidnapping when Neji discussed it. People want the ocular jutsu that the user of the eyes is capable of doing. Same reason why Orochimaru wanted Itachi or Sasuke, granted for their bodies but also for the eyes and the powers that would come from it especially with them being from such a powerful clan.

Sharingan gives the user the ability to see the flow and movement of chakra, but also the ability to see and copy the movements of other people, as well as slow down visual speed SO THAT THEY can counter. That's why, Michelle, although Kakashi developed that new jutsu, it wasn't suitable for him because he had no way to see things in slow-mo to be able to counter the opponent's counter attacks because chidori/raikiri requires the user to move as fast as they can in a linear strike. Him coming across a sharingan for him to keep was just fate and they way that this story was written. He was just lucky to get one, but you are right that Sasuke is perfect for it.

Also, regarding the Sharingan, yes you can transplant it, but it doesnt mean you can use it to the full extent a true Uchiha can (as explained by Itachi way back when he first fought Kakashi.) He says, "you may have the eye, but you dont have the body that goes with the eye," therefore their stamina/abilities are limited compared to that of a true Uchiha. And also, Kakashi already has the Mangekyou Sharingan. He uses "Kamui" during their fight with Deidara, which is a time-space transportation technique. But he is limited in its capacity because he only has one eye, and he gets waayy too tired easily after using it (because he's not a true Uchiha).

Not sure if you guys know how the Sharingan works but it essentially gives it's user the ability to see things in slow motion. The more Tomei you have (the black comma things) the better your analysis which is why Sasuke could see in the fights with Haku and Naruto at such high speeds, it's also how Kakashi was able to predict Zabuza's movements. The Second thing it allows is for you to see the flow of chakra so you can tell the difference between illusions, clones and shadow clones and if someone's chakra is disturbed. The last "common" ability is the ability to administer genjutsu with ease in order to fool opponents, you could essentially make them believe all sorts of things but in reality it'd just be in there head. After that the Sharingan gets much more complex and personal to specific users.

I thought about Orochimaru and that he should have just stolen young Sasuke's sharingan if he only wanted the sharingan. But then again, Itachi said it in og Naruto that Kakashi didn't have the body of the Uchiha that goes with the eyes so he was slower and weaker. So Orochimaru wanted both body and eyes of an Uchiha. Kakashi has the Sharingan but as he not of the Uchiha blood, using it costs much more chakra and puts a much greater strain on him than it would on an actual Uchiha. So to use a Sharingan thats not yours effectively, you need great mastery. Even if someone else took a sharingan, they may be barely able to use it if they arent gifted with chakra control and enough chakra levels to begin with.

As many have mentioned, Kakashi does have the mangekyo ability of creating the black hole that absorbed Deidara's arm. The reason how Kakashi gained MS is still unknown. But the fact that Kakashi, a non Uchiha wields sharingan has a downside. The sharingan isn't properly synchronized with his body so it drains his chakra and stamina a lot, which is why he is hospitalized after spamming it. As for Chidori, the movement is so fast that the wielder of Chidori gets tunnel vision from the speed, leaving them vulnerable for counter attacks from the sides which is why the 4th Hokage told Kakashi not to use it. Sharingan works as a way to counter the tunnel vision problem, which is why Sasuke could learn and use it safely

These episodes did a lot for story explanation and addressing a bunch of things from OG Naruto. He always visits the grave stone which is why he's always late (you could argue that he makes himself late on purpose as his own way of paying homage to Obito who was also always late), and why he taught Team 7 that lesson. The lesson he taught Team 7 in the very beginning was the exact same line Obito said to Kakashi ("those who don't take care of their friends are worse than trash"). Kakashi already has the Mangekyou from the beginning of Shippuden when he and Naruto were chasing Deidara. So he somehow awakened it. It's also important to know that because Kakashi is not from the Uchiha clan, using the Sharingan takes a toll on his body. He isn't able to use it to it's full potential because it literally isn't compatible with his body. Itachi explained this when he and Kisame came to Konoha and fought Kakashi/Asuma/Kurenai. It's also why Kakashi always keeps it covered up when he isn't using it. He can't turn it on and off like an Uchiha could and it drains his chakra a lot. The fact that he's able to use it as well as he does is really understated. It's actually extremely impressive. I don't know if you missed it or not because of the translation, but his father was a big big deal in the Leaf Village - Konoha's White Fang (you can tell someone is damn special when they have a cool nickname; The Yellow Flash, White Fang, Kakashi of the Sharingan, etc). Their sensei told Obito that even the legendary Sannin's names paled in comparison to his. If you remember, he's the one Chiyo had a vendetta against because he killed her son during one of the wars. Understandable that she attacked Kakashi because he looked almost exactly like him
