While I agree that polos and khakis at a kink convention can be out of place, I would like to acknowledge that a man in a full tailored suit with a boy that’s nearly naked is hot AF! 2. There are some really great mentorship programs out there now for the young people of our community. A 22 year old could have trained for 3 years with a fantastic older Dom and learned a lot from them and the connections/interactions that were set up for them. My mentor when I was 19 was a 68 year old leatherman that was amazing with mentoring and teaching me things about kink and leather. He arranged my first few sessions with Doms and really helped guide me. He even introduced me to my bootblack mentor that taught me what it means to be a bootblack. My entire platform for my title run this year is about including our members of the community that are 18-21 and giving them spaces to learn and explore in safe environments. Which includes mentorship programs. What I’m saying is: Daddy, don’t be so quick to judge. Don’t write someone off just based on what your idea of an “experienced Dom” is. Ask for references. Listen to them and let them explain their experiences and training. And to both Amp and Daddy: they’re not kids. They’re legal adults. Calling them kids suggests that we’re introducing children to kink, which isn’t true at all and is something that you’re outspoken about being vehemently against. If they’re old enough to vote, join the military, and even go to a decent amount of bars, then they’re old enough to be involved in kink. They deserve space just like any of the rest of us. Even if they’re younger than you and “seem like kids” because of the age difference. Words have power. Choose them wisely.💚
