Other Weekly Update

Progress is still going well. Had a few hiccups, but nothing bad. I've also realized while I was doing a shit load of dialogue work that I did not want to write a book, so that whole system is being reimagined for less talking and more actions. This may not give the most amount of lore, but I think that's alright. Writing is the worst part of this for me. It'll still tell a story just without the filibusters.

Other than that, it's still chugging along. Nothing crazy to share. If you have any questions just let me know. I'm hoping everyone is continuing to stay safe and healthy. If you want to join the Discord server or you have joined and need a role, go ahead and send me a DM anywhere.

Notes:
-Download the folder with everything in it. Do not download individual files.

-You save the game now by going to the side of the bed. No longer autosaves.

-ESC closes the game, P brings up the menu for options.
-Answer the door for Poppy when you want and DO NOT pick any other option other than "For a price..". If you DO pick another option than that, you'll need to delete your save file and go again. The only ways right now to do that is: Press "P" and go to Delete Saved Game or C:\Users\[username]\Appdata\Local\GYYO_TheGame\Saved\ then delete the file

Comments

That's still stuff I'm working on.

MoistCavityMap

I downloaded everything and it works fine performance wise just cant progress anything past opening the door for poppy.

DEATHLORD851

I'm having a bug where anytime I talk to poppy it shows blank untexted options and I cant choose any of them. While thats happening I cant exit or pausing the game and need to force quit it.

DEATHLORD851

how do I get Cozy time with Poppy in front of the fireplace?

Yessir, a lot of the animating lately has been facial expressions for choices made. Going to try and make it less 'skip this text shit' and more have it where each box ticked matters, but also not have a shit load of em. I still need to brainstorm a bit, but I like this approach better.

MoistCavityMap

You can still do a lot with body-language and environmental storytelling. You might still need to write it down for yourself to make sure it all makes sense, but it'll definitely save you the time writing all the dialogues verbatim. You're already very skilled with animating facial expressions, so I'm sure you can convey whatever context you like. Also, making it more text minimal might even be a refreshing take, as well.
