Hour Comics 2025 - PDF

Hello friends!

This is a post to share the Mike Dawson's Monthly 'Zine Club presents Mike Dawson's Hourly Comics 2025 by Mike Dawson 'zine with all print and digital members of The Monthly 'Zine Club. You can find it attached to this post, or download it from this link https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/d8kckw4k9mrd522yaqrz6/HOURLY-COMICS.pdf?rlkey=1yr9oz9rp2lyw0b66od5uo1c6&st=sccrita9&dl=0

I am plotting out my next few self-published efforts. Next month I'll be shipping everybody a handsome reformatted print edition of a cartoon essay called Why Did They Come? This was a piece I did for The Nib, that feels very relevant in today's climate. I want to make a nice version for everybody here in the 'Zine Club, but am also thinking about ways I can make a cheap and easily shared one also. I'll be putting some thought into this.

Then in April I'm putting together something that'll serve as kind of a companion piece to the new middle-grade graphic novel I'm writing. There's a lot of different things going on in the new story related to some fairly heavy topics, such as animal rights and our food supply. The first 'zine I'll be making is called Death on a Farm and this one will not be included in the new book, as it'll be way too dark for a children's book. The challenge I have in front of me is to write a second cartoon essay on many of these same topics, but to make something that can be a part of a middle-grade book. I think it's very doable, I don't think there are very many topics you can't figure out to write so that children can appreciate what you're saying, but it's going to take some thinking. This will all make more sense when you see the new material.

Thank-you again for all your ongoing support!

Mike
