Patreon iOS Mobile App Update

Hey everyone! I talked about this a while back but I thought I'd go ahead and remind everyone once again. If you happen to have your Patreon payment method connected through the PATREON iOS MOBILE APP. Please pay elsewhere. You can use the website on your phone, or use an desktop device to allot your payment method there.

There is a new update rolling around that is going to add an extra fee on top of Patreon pledges on iOS devices. If I'm not mistaken the additional fee is 30%. This does not benefit Patreon, me, or more importantly YOU. This extra fee literally only goes to apple.

Best way to avoid this is just as I said above. Move your payment method elsewhere. You can do it on the website on your mobile device. Or any desktop device. Just DO NOT pledge from the Patreon mobile app.

As far as I understand and people that I've talked to. Not a lot of people pay through the Patreon mobile app which is great. That means this doesn't effect you. Just wanted to send this out there for anyone so that you can avoid this nasty fee being tacked on by apple.
