October/November 2024 Sketches 3 - Nico (Monster Con)(Sequence)

Here's a sequence featuring Nico from Monster Con. The idea was suggested by ______edge_seat.

"There's a lot of conventions throughout the year, but only one true night of Halloween! That's why Nico wants to make sure that their cosplay is the flashiest and scariest it can be!

Or they would, if only they had the proper funds for it... Guess it's time for them to go back to their job for a bit. And where does a mimic work? In a dungeon of course!

Nico always carries their chest camouflage with them, so it's as easy as sitting down in a dark corner and waiting for some naive adventurers to come greedily open the sweet looking chest, only to be even more greedily devoured by the cute monster inside! Usually that'd be it, they have a hearty person-sized meal and the money gets safely stowed inside the chest they wear, but just thanks to the horrorful magic in the air during the spooky season, it seems Nico's true monstrous nature is coming out, and their beastly body immediately turns the meal in their belly into some hefty size for them! Plus, a lot more hunger...

A much bigger and even more inviting looking chest is awaiting adventurers to come now, to gobble up even more easily caught prey! Soon, the mimic is big enough to eat up entire parties of barbarians and mages, all stuffing their finances well and their stomach even more! Does such a powerful mimic really need to stay lurking on the lower floors of the dungeon? Clearly not, so here they come, crashing through the entryways and getting higher and higher, growing bigger and bigger, plain massive. Nico doesn't even need to trick their prey at this point, all those smallfry adventurers can't even run away from the large aggressive grapples, and the wide maw enclosing them. Hell, not even the other monsters in there are safe, Nico is just devouring whoever or whatever they comes across...until the entire dungeon got too tight for them, and the mimic just crashes through to the outside!

Clearly, all the gold they've collected in their (much tighter now) chest would be enough for a costume, does Nico even need one though, looking so hot and monstrous. They should be getting some great recognition with whatever they wear this Halloween, if not making it to the news headlines even, in case the feral hunger returns outside of the dungeon too!"

Honestly, the suggestion works great as the story! So here's Nico eating the foolish adventurers that get tricked by their treasure chest form, growing bigger with each successful fooling. After breaking out of the dungeon, being full of adventurers AND money, they had enough to buy the best costume for the contest!...But turns out that they didn't need any costume! Since their freakishly huge size let them win the contest without even trying!

With them not even being able to fit in the building where the contest was held, as they were towering over the whole building...and the surrounding city! Now, knowing how much people like their huge size, now they have a new life goal...to be the biggest mimic in the world!
