this is how i feel about olivia rodrigo 😭 i LOVE to see her win and i think it's refreshing to see a young pop girl thriving and being confident in her image/sound/songwriting/etc. she's also beautiful!!! but the music just does NOT do it for me 😭 idk what it is. i think deja vu is a cute song and drivers license was a MOMENT for the girls but i think it's just not for me honestly. which is insane considering i'm a sabrina stan and they're not too far off from each other musically but idk... sabrina's schtick just meshes more well with me and my taste i suppose.

Dua Lipa: I genuinely don't think her music is bad but from Future Nostalgia on the music is just fine to me. I do think for whatever reason though I got Sweetest Pie the way others didn't that's my shit Sza: I like maybe 30% of her music no shade😭but I really do respect what she's been able to do with so little besides her talent. She does strike me a bit as all over the place when it comes to getting out the music (Sza reminds me of Normani in that way because you could just not say anything💀.)But I know that at least 80% of that has to do with her manager Punch and TDE so. Demi Lovato: I love demi but i've never been obsessed with her music. I think people tried to give her too much sometimes when comparing her to people like Selena or Miley because she's a great singer as opposed to the actual bodies of work she has. Also she doesn't really have a superstar presence like her peers so I was never invested in her having a successful career. Demi just has some songs that I really enjoy and I hope she's doing well but that's pretty much it. I thought I had wayy more but the more I think about those all lean negative.

Nothing Bruno does is half ass and there a lot of thought and time that goes into his writing and producing. What he lack in innovation he makes up in creativity which is why I believe Bruno has a distinctive sound that you can hear in songs like finesse, die with a smile, and all I ask. The same can’t be said about Harry he doing the stealing people swear Beyoncé do. There is no creativity or effort in Harry music which leave him with no real musical identity despite having 3 albums and an aoty. The main positive I can give Harry is he is well marketed and his pr has created a great image for him.

When his team tried giving him the Elton/David Bowie drip, I rolled my eyes because they missed the part where those men LEANED into their femininity. Their looks were like a second skin to them and they were FAB. Harry just looked clownish and uncomfortable (that purple boa pissed me off). I think his new album is great, because he’s pulling in from so many traditional Puerto Rican sounds, bands, and old school reggaeton beats. Same thing with some of his newer stage outfits. Similar to Sabrina, I appreciate the work ethic. Her new album does have great numbers, but the conversations around her aren’t favoring her. Art At Midnight and Camryn Suzanne made great videos about her. At the end of the day, better her as one of the next It Girls of Pop than Addison Rae. Both girls are suffering because of the constant Britney comparisons. I’ll probably crack and start listening to more of her music just to see if I’m missing anything. Zendaya - I love Zendaya, I think she’s so beautiful, but I don’t blame anyone for being indifferent. I learned about her through cultural osmosis as a kid because I didn’t watch any of her Disney projects. Her best moments are on the red carpet. I was indifferent to Challengers, I thought it was a solid 3/5, never felt motivated to watch it again. I would love to peer into the alternative timelines where she pursued music or modelling full time, would my opinions of her be different. She and Sabrina do have beautiful auras. Justin Beiber - He probably went through a lot of trauma as a child star that he is still processing. That might have motivated him to throw away his star potential. It’s sad that he might be the last major mainstream Pop Boy. We have guys that are trying to get up there (Lil Nas X, Troye Sivan) but they are older and have a different fan base.

Skin was a terrible song, I was certain she’d never make it because it hadn’t happened for her yet. I didn’t understand you comparing her to Ariana until Nonsense started blowing up. I also understand the Ariana comparisons because she has really cultivated a strong physical image through her hair, makeup and fashion choices like Ariana. I loved her Christmas album, I loved her New Year’s Eve performance. I really like Short n’ Sweet. Interesting you talked about Taste, Taste is similar to Skin in terms of taking a villain role about how your brunette rival didn’t really win the boy, but the reason why both songs are interpreted so differently was that going against Camilla Cabello at her lowest was a much smarter move than going against Olivia Rodrigo at her strongest. Also, Sabrina’s public favor and perception had a really hard upswing in the time between those songs. On the positive side, Sabrina has a lot of effort. On the negative side, she has a lack of ease. She’s not struggling, it just doesn’t feel instinctive. If you ever see a dancer get criticism that people can see them doing 8 counts in their head, this is a similar idea. I like the work ethic, and Sabrina has been a top artist to listen to for me.

Chloe’s solo music is meh but I saw her set at Coachella and her stage presence is great! I was actually really proud watching her. Halle and the constant back and forth with ddg has become annoying so I’ve had to let her go. Normani…. Sigh. I was really rooting for her but clearly the fans want it more for her than she does. The way she deals with promo is frustrating. She just drops the album and goes back into hiding. She acts like Beyonce but the difference is bey paid her dues for years and normani is just starting out. She needs to be put some work in.

And it's *really* no hate because I agree that she seems like a great person! But even her Emmys made no sense to me—dare I say her counterparts outshined her fr. When she asked Fez for them drugs I was like...that baby sound like she ain't even been around advil. I watched Challengers for the first time last week to see if I'd be surprised and once again, I didn't get it. Her cursing never lands as natural to the ear, and when that lil girl called her Mommy and she gave "What's up," in response like a big sister, I was over it. Not to mention the limited facial expressions (i.e. "The Zendaya frown"). It's kinda like how Beyoncé's name supercedes her acting in a way cause her presence is so large. I feel this way with Zendaya, unfortunately. Again, she seems adorable as a person, and she's a stunning fashion girl, but a great actress? I'm not seeing it. I fear she just has major halo effect.
