One of the best baseball movies ever made was A league of their own. Its about the womans professional baseball league during World War 2 and the 40s and has A-list ensemble cast. Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Lori Petty. Rosie O'Donell and even Modanna herself. I promise you Mary if you watch this, it will be your new favorite sports movie. Also other good mentions is: The Natural with Robert Redford, Bull Durham with Kevin Costner and also For Love of the Game with Kevin Costner.

2024-03-19 23:31:21 +0000 UTCThis really isn't a sports film or even a true baseball film. Baseball is used as a set piece to tell a poignant story and the farm and cornfield is Americana. So I guess it's understandable Mary didn't get the emotional impact that i did and Americans both men and women do. It is truly in the classic category.
