You should skip the rest of the Transformers movies until Bumblebee. Michael Bay after the first film got more freedom with this franchise and after the first film it became just a special effects extravaganza with no story with each film after that till Bumblebee. The only reason to watch any other of the Michael Bay films is Shia LeBeouf just improvs everything and is hilarious in Transformmers 3, but then can fast forward through everything else in 3. Bumblebee rebooted the franchise and is amazing. Once they kicked Michael Bay out and rebooted it with new directors it finally felt like the Transformers it was always supposed to be. Bumblebee is actually set during the 1980s and directed by Travis Knight and stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena. Transformers Rise of the Beasts is the sequel to Bumblebee and is also very good and set in 1994. It is directed by Steven Caple, Jr. (Directed Creed II) and stars Anthony Ramos (In the Heights, Hamilton), Dominque Fishback (Project Power, Judas and The Black Messiah) and Pete Davidson voicing a new Transformer named Mirage that is just as likable as Bumblebee. Also, both focus on the characters a lot more and both stories can get emotional. May want to have the Kleenexs ready.

2023-09-08 21:25:39 +0000 UTCGreat reaction! I adore this movie! Transformers 2 and 3 are definitely worth seeing and is essentially a trilogy. Transformers 4 and 5 has a completely new cast. Bumblebee is a real treat, and is a reboot of the film series after the five Michael Bay Transformers films.
