WOW YES

Tyrone Tyrone

Walt was in the same position on the ground with the same expression on his face as when Gus fell at the pool when he saw his partner die.

Diesel

You handled it better than most. I've seen reactors be reduced to tears by this episode.

Kelly Parks

Skyler saying "where's Hank?"=D'Angelo saying "where's Wallace?"

Ryan Roach

Although I think he has threading the line a little bit when he said "you never supported me" and some of the other stuff in there were real grievances he had against her. He's probably angry she didn't run away with him.

Ryan Roach

agreed

I loved it when you said something in episode 12 -- you said something to the effect of, "They're not gonna kill Jesse at the beginning of the next episode. Killing a major character at the beginning of an episode is a boss move." Well, they did a boss move and killed Hank, a beloved major character, at the very beginning of this episode. Also, you know it's a rough one when a major character dies and it's only the 10th or 11th worst thing that happens. Most shows would kill a character as a climax. Breaking Bad kills Hank, and then makes you watch Marie tell Skyler that Hank is going to provide Skyler with all the help *she's* about to need. It's like a knife turn in the audience with us knowing that the opposite is true, and that Marie is going to need the emotional support when she finds out her husband is already dead. Boss move by the show, like you predicted! (It's also why Moira Walley-Beckett got an Emmy for "outstanding writing for a drama series" for writing "Ozymandias")

Dan

Amazed how many reactors don't get what Walt is doing in that phone call :D you're not the only one. He knew the police were listening: So he 1) Claims she knows absolutely nothing about the business. 2) Claims he threatened her for a solid year to scare her into silence. Basically giving her recorded evidence that will hopefully exonerate her from being a knowing accomplice. Crying while trying to come across like the unhinged abusive maniac. It's a shame because its actually the most redeeming thing he's done in a while (apart from offer the money for Hank's life).

Yeah, it's like they were having a separate conversation where he says, "This is my fault, so I'm making sure they don't blame you." and she says, "I understand." (kind of a thanks, but not the emotional sentiment in the moment). Lots of people miss it the first time, though, which is understandable. The givaway was when Walt mockingly said things Skyler never did: "Please, you've got to stop this, it's immoral!" Skyler never actually told him to stop, she just said she couldn't be a part of it, until she decided helping him was the only way to keep the secret that would otherwise destroy the family. So when Walt said those things, she realized it was an act and that she had to play along as the full victim. By saying "I'm sorry", she communicated back that she understood what he was really saying. But yeah, it's clearer in the next episode anyway.

Dan

Speaking of the Tuco days, one of my favorite bits of this episode is that the knife that Skyler pulls on Walt is the same knife that Walter has when he stays up all night in season 2 worrying about Tuco showing up to his house.

Another great scene was when Holly was calling for her mom. That of course wasn’t scripted, the baby was calling to her mom who was just off camera. Bryan Cranston reacted to what she did perfectly! This is one of the best tv episodes ever!

Doc Holliday

You can see the exact moment where she figures it out and says "sorry", and then he sighs with relief. Anyway, they spell it out in the next episode, which I'm sure demomorg (does he have an actual name?) has already seen by now.

Ryan Roach

And can we talk about the acting in that phone call scene. Bryan Cranston was playing masked devastation while trying to project fake rage. Amazing scene.

BobJ

As previously mentioned, Walt was aware the police were listening to the call and was attempting to put all the blame on himself and take it off Syler.

BobJ

Bro you need to rewatch the scene where walt is on the phone to Skyler while the police are with her... he said everything he said to get her out of it. He hasn't lost it.

Cane Halliday

Is there a schedule for this week

Emma Schragel

Its just as good after watching the episode! Cant wait to watch your reaction to these last episodes!!

Daniel Chavez

Was meant to react to the poem by Bryan Cranston before this video but totally forgot, I was just focused on watching the next episode so apologies for that!
