Personal/family situation - pausing page
Added 2019-04-30 17:05:59 +0000 UTCI feel like I owe you awesome folks a heads up as to why I am pausing my page today.
A family situation has taken a turn for the worse, one that I need to devote more attention to immediately. In the spirit of full disclosure, this family situation previously led to my taking an indefinite hiatus from the Starstreakers project I had talked about (that's why I haven't mentioned it lately).
I have a busy life as it is, one with many responsibilities, all of which necessarily must come before my writing projects. With Patreon, and my website, and my mailing list, and Starstreakers!, and Talon City, and CCH3, and trying to post on social media, I just put too much onto my plate. I need to lighten my load so I can focus on my family, and when I get some free time, actually writing instead of juggling other "writing-related" endeavors.
I am still devoted to working on CCH3 and Talon City, but my situation is going to make deadlines of any type very difficult to fulfill. I may be able to crank out a decent amount of words one month, but then not much the next. It all depends on how things at home are going.
So thus far, I've...
1) Put Starstreakers on hiatus.
2) Cut way back on social media.
3) Not worried about putting new content on my website.
And now I'm putting this page on a one-month hiatus. That means you will NOT be charged this week. I wanted to announce this and do this move before anyone was charged.
Will the page re-activate in late May? The answer right now is, I don't know.
On one hand, I adore interacting with you all, some of my core readers, and I hope you've enjoyed the experience. It is BEYOND flattering to have people support me to this extent. It's humbling. Also, I've been able to pay some very talented artists with my Patreon funds, and that makes me feel great to spread the creative love!
On the other hand, I need to prioritize things, and it might be best for me to remove all deadlines this year, including the deadlines I set for myself here on Patreon. Without deadlines, I can take a few weeks off writing whenever I need to without feeling like I am letting anyone down.
So I haven't decided yet about the long-term future of this page, but I totally understand if people feel they should stop supporting the page.
I will write again to let you know which way I go sometime in May. Again, I feel the need to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of this.
Eric
