As promised…

I took today off work to focus on CCH. My wife is on a business trip and my kiddos will be home in an hour or so, but I’m making solid progress and enjoying back porch life (although it’s 93).

New CCH 2.5 Link

The new link is up! I'm currently working on the last 1/3 of Family Day.

The last two weeks have been challenging, and I haven't gotten to work on 2.5 as much as I would have liked. But I'm making it a priority this week.

I'm taking off work two days this week to devote to working on 2.5, and I'm also attending a write-o-rama Saturday with my writers' group that should give me 6-7 hours of writing time. So that's about 20 hours of relatively uninterrupted writing time, and t...

Delaying CCH 2.5 WIP link by a week

With my girls starting school this past week and work kicking my butt, it's been a hectic and busy time, and I'd like to make a bit more progress on Part 2.5 before posting the link, just to give you more new to explore. This coming week promises to be a bit lighter.

I will post it next Sunday, on August 22th, at noon, at the same time I post my Things that Make You Go Hmmm article for the Hmmm tier folks. I apologize for the delay.

(Pow/Hmmm) Poll for Existing RPG Sheet

I'll keep this short and sweet this month. In September, I'll start working in some of the newer sheets created this year.

(All) Poll re: potential Zip! Sequel

Which of the below best describes your reaction to Zip! Speedster of Valiant City?

There's a chance I'll create more Zip! content, but I'd like to get your feedback about the first Zip! to help inform my thought process.

If your response is something much different than any of the options, feel free to post a comment with your reaction.

And please be brutally honest! I can't see who votes which way, so I'll never know...

(All) August Update and Schedule

1) Publication Date News: To be clear, DG's "soon" above refers to when I'll be wrapping up Part 2.5. However, publication will have to wait a bit. I currently have a tentative publication date with Hosted Games of Thursday, March 3, 2022. Yes, it's a bit far off, but there are are many games in the queue ahead of me. On the positive side, it gives me time to get deep into Part 3 by the time "Fun and Games" is released. Also, it allows me a Steam release, whi...

Updated CCH 2.5 Link

Here's the newest WIP link!

When I first started this game last summer, my plan was to make it a short 10k-word free supplement to CCH 2.0, just bonus content to offer people because of the crappy year we were all having.

Well, it's now ballooned up to 85,835 words and I anticipate it will easily exceed 100,000 words. It's transformed from modest bonus content into a full-fledged game.

Family Day: currently at 16,454 words (about 60% done)

Lake Monster: currently at 25...

(Pow/Hmmm) Poll for NEW RPG Sheet

This might be the last one!

So far this year, Crook won in April, Booksmart won in May, and the Manipulator won in June. Who will prevail in July?

Honestly, I'm just tossing out random combinations of choices now. Patrons are constantly changing, so I figure I should keep mixing this up.

July Update and Schedule

In some ways, it seems that summer just started, but in other ways, my summer won't last much longer. My kiddos return to school in early August, so I just have 5 more weeks of summer before my wife and I have to start waking up at 5:30 every morning! Oh well, just... *does the math*  ...6 more years of this.

Oh, I have two pieces of news to share.

1) I was reviewing my most recent royalty statement yesterday, and I realized that I just passed a milestone; my games (CCH...

(Pow/Hmmm) Updated CCH 2.5 link

I've added some content to 2.5, and I hope to get a lot done over 4th of July weekend because of the extra day off work!

A reminder:

Lake Monster is pretty much done, other than a little cleaning up.

Family Day is about half done.

Zarlor is about 90% done, but will need the most serious play-testing because of the combat mechanics.

Enjoy your Sunday!

(Pow/Hmmm) Poll: A Tiebreaker, don'tcha know? (new RPG sheet)

Thanks to widely scattered poll results last week, Manipulator and...Friendzone...? managed to eek out a tie at 21% each. But only one may win! Let's see who prevails in this one-on-one matchup.

(Pow/Hmmm) Poll for NEW RPG Sheet

Crook won in April, and Booksmart prevailed in May, so who will emerge victorious in June?

I'm not sure how much longer this new batch of RPG sheets will run, so if you have a favorite character who doesn't have their own sheet, make your vote count now!

The recycling continues. Eventually I'll toss Crook's sheet into the mix, but as he's brand new, I'll keep him a "May exclusive" for a bit!

June Update and Schedule - Share your plans!

My family and I are headed off on a family trip, but I've scheduled posts in advance, so you won't even know I'm gone. Really, you won't!

While I'm on this topic, I'd LOVE to hear about anything you have planned for the summer, whether it's taking a class, starting a new job, going to a fun event or convention, getting a new pet, absolutely anything you're pumped about! Comment below! (And to those folks in the Southern Hemisphere, tell us about your winter plans!)

Delay on CCH 2.5 update

I'm behind schedule and I won't be able to post an update today. Honestly, I'm behind mostly because I actually had a fun, social week for the first time since last March. I had dinner/drinks with my old high school buddies on Wed, Thursday was spent with my wife as an early anniversary celebration (brunch and pedicures, it was my first time!), and then a meeting with my writers' group yesterday that stretched on for 5 hours.

It all sorta just hit at once, but I really needed this. I'm ...

Crook won in April*, but once wasn't enough, so let's do another poll this month. I'm including as options the top four runner up vote-getters from last month. Adrienne and I will work on the winner's sheet in June.

*Crook's sheet set to be delivered in late May.

May Update and Schedule

I don't know about you fine folks, but for me things are picking up in May big time!

The kids are back returned to (part-time) in-person school, we're starting to socialize with family/friends more, I'm hosting my writing group's first meeting in forever in two weeks, and my family is going on vacation in early June. My wife and I are fully vaccinated and so we're finally creeping out of our 13 months of relative seclusion.

My attorney work is picking up too, evidenced by me...

(Pow/Hmmm Tiers) Tie-Breaker Poll for Existing RPG Sheet

(Pow/Hmmm Tiers) Poll for NEW RPG sheet!

I'm super excited to do this limited relaunch of the RPG sheets! I'm not sure how many we'll do. Honestly it depends on interest and whether or not some folks decide to move over from Yay! to Pow! to get the sheets.

The plan is to deliver the new sheet sometime in May, which is Adrien/ne's earliest availability. I'm leaving this poll open for a full 10 days to give everyone the chance to see it and participate. I think Patreon allows you to change your vote? But I'm not sure about that....

(Pow/Hmmm Tiers) Poll for Existing RPG Sheet

So to recap,

In February, Stunner narrowly beat Captain California, Dirty Girl, and Meg Tolly.

In March, Synergy edged out Tress and Downfall.

This month, the candidates are a mix of losers (or "not winners" to be more charitable) from those two months. The winner will be distributed via Patreon PM later this month.

(A reminder: I distributed Hedonist, Stoic, Lady Ash, and Origami in fall 2020, and I'll likely start weaving them back as options in May.)

April Update and Schedule

Well, it's April and CCH 2.5 gets closer and closer to publication. The draft of "Zarlor" is pretty much complete and just needs some of my tlc this weekend to get it ready for sharing this month. But I still don't have an outline for "Parents Day."

Honestly, I'm happy to have made some progress considering the avalanche of content in March (Snyder Cut, Falcon/Winter Soldier, Godzilla/Kong, etc.) Oh, and my wife's birthday too!  :)

I'll continue to stick with Sundays to...

Update to CCH 2.5

I'm getting closer and closer to wrapping up "Zarlor!"

I've updated the game files to add a few thousand words leading up to the climax. The climax going forward will be rather heavy on mechanics, and I'm working on the battle scenes as we speak. I plan to do another update before the end of the month, and will let you know when that happens.

Enjoy your Sunday evening!

(Pow/Hmmm Poll) Pick the RPG sheet you'd like this Month

I know some of you might already have these character sheets, but for those of you who don't, pick your favorite. The character with the most votes is the one that will be released to you via private message later in the month.

(I distributed Hedonist, Stoic, Lady Ash, and Origami in fall 2020, so they won't appear as options for a while, and Captain California/Dirty Girl/Meg Tolly/Stunner were all February options) As you know, Stunner won in a VERY close vote.

So the choic...

(Poll) Interest in a Superhero Romance Game?

I spoke with a few patrons about this during our February Zoom meeting, and the conversation sorta stuck in my head. So I thought I would throw this out to a wider group for input.

After I'm done with CCH, I've been considering doing a superhero romance game for Hosted Games. In my perfect world, I team with a romance writer who handles the romance elements (not a strength of mine, admittedly) while I add superhero trappings and assist with choices, coding, and overall game structure.&n...

March Update and Schedule

Is it just me, or is 2021 going faster than year did?

My goal this month is to strike the right balance between work and play, and maybe getting a bit of exercise with warmer weather settling in here in Kentucky.

"There's a Monster on My Line" is pretty much done, pending some final testing. 1/3 of CCH 2.5 down.

My goal is to have the draft of "Zarlor" done by the time I provide you with the work-in-progress update link(s) in mid-month. That will get me close to being 2/3 do...

CCH3 Demo Link

Notes:

I haven't updated the game since the fall, but I wanted to include the link today because I think there a good number of new Patrons who may have not read any of it.

I have some rough chunks of scenes, including romance scenes for all 6 ROs, competed, but none of the content is well-written enough or coded sufficiently to add at this point. As soon as I get CCH 2.5 submitted to Hosted Games, I will turn my attention to getting Issue 9 finished.

CCH 2.5 Demo Link

Notes:

1) Parents'  Day is still empty for now. But Zarlor and Lake Monster both have a good amount of content (about 35k and 20k, respectively) They are both 75-80% done.

2) If you're so inclined, I'd love for you to point out any bugs/coding errors. It will definitely save me time later.

3) This is the time, while I'm working to wrap up these two stories, to give me feedback that I can use to make these better. I can't do huge things, like rework the whole concepts or...

General issues about Tier changes

One $5 Patron and five $1 Patrons (Jason Lopez, Kaosorer, LoneDingo, Shilo D'Winter, and SwampFox) are not currently in any tier. The Patron management system on my end shows your pledges, but it has you floating around "Tierless." I don't see anyone else being effected by this, but I'll keep an eye on it. Hopefully that is something that can be solved with a quick push of a button on your end. I filter by Tiers to deliver benefits, so it can screw up delivery if the system has people not bel...
