Walt is angry because he didn't have to face up to all the bad shit he was doing since he was going to die. When finding out he'll live for longer he has to face all the shitty things he's done and the choices he's made. So he tried to leave it behind and occupy his time with DIY. Heisenberg can't be kept down though, somethings taken root and aches to come out. Taking over at the party then at the end.
