2021-04-22 18:48:06 +0000 UTCbig good ol boyz fan in buffalo ny. yes its rust belt, but changing rapidly for a number of reasons and different from detroit and cleveland by virtue of existing within NY state with New York City economic engine to buoy/buffer against economic downturn. Police have not yet been defunded, but the city itself is becoming much much more liberal. Or at least the liberals are getting louder. Also has been a refugee re-settlement zone for past decade plus and a large influx of Bengladeshi's coming from NYC for cheaper real estate. Gentrification making it look less apocalyptic but still a bizarre mash of suburban sprawl, industrial wasteland, historic architecture, and deep urban poverty.
