What Acolytes almost was

Hey guys, I thought I'd share something a little different with you guys today.

So, I used to make more "legitimate" games back in the day. This was way before I even thought of Acolytes.

Specifically, I used to make platformers and stealth games featuring cute characters. This went on for a while because I thought this would be the way to make money as a game developer.

Making these games did make me low-key miserable, partly because they weren't very popular, and partly because working with any tool other than Renpy is a pain in the ass.

This went on for years until I got a new drawing tablet one day and decided top try it out, with some spicy drawings.

I had been playing some VN's by this point and I had always wanted to try and make one. Specifically, I was really enamored with "Eldet" (The abandoned VN from rnarcus).

What you see above are the first images from the game that would eventually become acolytes. The original version was much more serious and grim than the version you can now play.

Also, as you can see, the style changed a bit as I got better at drawing.
