Without a doubt one of the best matches of 2018. It is no mistake that these two men are in the top of the card in whatever promotion they go to. The selling, the comebacks, the hope spots, and ultimately the confirmation that Walter WILL kill you and your dreams to hold on to a title. Love love love this match, bless Irish Wrestling

2024-12-05 03:15:18 +0000 UTCWell he used to be somewhat of a Babyface in wXw, but only because his "The mat is sacred and I am the best at wrestling" stuff got over to the point where you had to say "Yes the mat is sacred and you are indeed the best" :D I do not think that would work for an american mainstream audience. Indeed the only way I see Gunther as a short time face is if he gets screwed by an even worse heel. A famous example would be Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express, who were Babyfaces once in their career, when they fought "the original" Midnight express, managed by Paul Heyman, who were even bigger pricks (and Jim Cornette cuts the greatest somewhat Babyface Promo ever, here to see if anybody is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lEbFMSPvbk). Otherwise I se Gunther as a career Heel, at least in the big promotions.

Yes, you obviously still wanna be able to sell the fight and have some sort of story going into it to get people to wanna watch. But sometimes people don't truly understand that some of the best matches are ones where you are able to go into it not knowing a lot of the context but still end up feeling something and getting invested as you watch it.

JD McDonagh (Jordan Devlin) and Lyra Valkyria (Aoife Valkyrie) are the two main home grown talents from there. For their main shows they bring in major stars from AEW, TNA and NJPW (also former wwe stars) and in October this year they were able to bring in Finn Balor and JD while still being with WWE for their 10th Anniversary Show (under Vince's regime you would never see wwe wrestlers in other indie promotions). Lyra is having a match for OTT at Christams. I have been to a most of their shows since 2022 and I am never let down with it. I think the person who creates the video packages is one of the camera operators and he also edits the videos of the show. Definitely check out more OTT
