Going forward in 2021

And by the life, we mean the game :P

Some of you said it! Cmon! You can say that you said it, you deserve it.

3 projects at once was not a good idea. Not for 2 ppl, and we can't have more than Tz and I for now. As such, we've put all the projects in a big box, shaken and baked and voilà! Magical Waifus Academy part 2! Or... patch 1.2. But wait Wataponno, we are on version 1.0, how can we skip 1.1 and go straight to 1.2? We won't skip 1.1! We will patch the game in some important manner in the next 2 months (details below).

Why? What will happen to HH?

HH is a far bigger project asset wise AND code wise than MWA. And it's going fine, but not fine enough to support the projects we all love (we are still far away from any potential public release). So, for the continuity of it all, we'll shake things up a bit and do what we wanted to do this summer, right now: expand MWA. 

What is MWA part 2?

MWA part 2 is the name I unofficially gave to this project. It will be a continuity of the story and gameplay of the actual MWA, but most importantly, a continuity of the same game. We will build upon and refine the systems we already have. It won't be a separate entity or download, it will literally be the same game, just better version of itself. I won't spoil anymore of the story or content for now, you'll discover it in time :)

What happens until MWA p2 has a viable build?

In the next 2 months, additions and refinements will be made to Magical Waifus Academy as we strive towards an even better game! Combat system refinements, sidequests and side stories with classmates, etc. Tz is already working on it, and so am I! Until we can have a viable and meaty build for MWA p2, 10$ will receive the updates for MWA 1.1 (through steam or here) and the new 2-5$ patrons will have the patreon feed of new stuff and HH alpha 5. As for all current 2$-5$ patrons, you know you can get a steam key but asking here or on discord on feb 11 or later :)

WAIT WHAT!? NO NEW GAME FOR 2-5$ PATRONS FOR LIKE 3-4 MONTHS?

Yeaaahh... There is a line of Steam agreements that sadly came to my attention like... the day past yesterday... Buried in all the legal documentation (and by that I mean not in the actual legal agreement, in a separate doc on their website). You see, while it is 100% approved to SELL the game at "any" price anywhere, all big game sellers like Steam, GOG, Epic etc, don't allow to give the game as part of crowd funding (patreon) at a lower price than indicated in their store... so yeah... sucks. That's part of the reason why it's actually part 2: a separate entity that will still be easily dividable from actual MWA for the general public while staying the same game as a whole. It will be a different enough game (without the content from actual MWA for the public releases) so that we can actually ship it to you guys. But eh! It's way better than having to wait even longer to let us time to build a whole new game! :') We're not super duper doped about that either, we kinda painted ourselves in a corner... And when I say We a I mean I.

The poll result:

The two polls were clear enough as to how it would be best for us and for patrons new and old to promote the page. 2$ tier patrons will now have access to the public release plus galleries. 5$ patrons will be a version ahead and 10$ will have a headstart on the newest versions, plus cheats. We don't know the exact schedule yet, but we'll share it with you when time comes ^^

tl;dr : Growth was slower than expected in late 2020, and thus I saw bigger than what we could possibly do. Time to cut back now while it's not too late.
