This time we're talking about the Junji Ito Collection.
This was kind of a tough video to make, as I really wanted this show to be good, but from episode one the overall lack of quality was apparent, and it just retained so little of the appeal of the manga. I much prefer to make videos about things I actually like, and I get kind of down when I spend weeks making a video about why somethings bad, but I do think it’s important to acknowledge when potential is lost, like I hate the idea of people watching this series and thinking that’s all there is to Junji Ito’s work.
It was fun to talk about horror again though, I really enjoy working on creepy videos and there were parts of this one that I got to have a lot of fun with. It also made for an interesting change of pace, the last couple of videos I've done I've been talking about some of my favorite pieces of media (Jojo’s, dbz etc) and I haven’t made a negative video for a while, so it was cool to be able to use that part of my brain while also getting to talk about one of my favorite authors.
A small note about our next video, which should, everything going according to plan release on April 1st, but I’m going to do the Patreon post for it on March 31st, just because I have two more videos scheduled for April and I’d rather not charge people three times in the same month.

2018-03-18 00:11:48 +0000 UTCI'm glad you posted this video. Your original video about Junji Ito interested me, so I was tempted to watch the anime. But now I know that the manga is a better choice. Speaking of things you like or dislike, what's your opinion on recent Dragon Ball content (the BoG/RF movies and Super)? Since DBZ is something you have a passion for I'm curious what your thoughts are. I know you dislike the way the manga is drawn, but what about the movies and anime? Personally I think that while there are clearly a lot of flaws (for example Jiren is an incredibly dull character), DBS has been a very fun ride. And I honestly think the theatrical cut of BoG is one of the highlights of the whole franchise.
