Obviously it means you have to log-in to Patreon to use it so I've posted the unlisted YouTube link too for those of you who don't want to. But please let me know if it works as an alternative and what you think of the playback experience. Really appreciate the feedback.

But since then, I've watched a ton of GTA roleplay, and while it's probably an obvious reaction, I'm surprised by just how deeply I've attached those community-created characters and stories into this world. This obviously impressive, complex world almost feels vacant and hollow without that life that I've come to know could exist inside of it. • re: patreon video The video player seems to have smooth playback / loading and it generally seems functional enough. I didn't notice any particularly aggressive compression, but I have decent internet. I wonder how that scales for other folks, since I don't see any resolution/bitrate options, maybe it only auto-adjusts. The Patreon player is a bit feature-deprived compared to YT's, but I personally really only have one gripe and it's really specific to my use-case. When I'm working, I tend to put videos on my second monitor which is vertically-oriented. What I'll do is embiggen the player on youtube, which will effectively widen the player to the width of that monitor, then I'll pin the browser to the top of the screen and bring the bottom edge of the browser up to the bottom of the player. Basically I optimize 1/3 of the monitor to be just video with minimal web interface, freeing up the rest of the monitor for whatever. Unfortunately it looks like this is not currently possible with Patreon video, but that's just a mild inconvenience.

2021-11-08 18:04:03 +0000 UTCit works fine in the mobile app but I definitely prefer the YouTube link because I can easily watch the video on my TV without any resolution or quality issues by using screensharing from my phone. the unlisted yt link is just very comfortable to use :)
