Plant Tissue Systems Lecture

We talk about the three main types of tissue systems in plants :

Dermal (trichomes, guard cells)
Ground (Parenchyma, Collenchyma, Sclerenchyma) &
Vascular (xylem and phloem)

What the hell are these tissues? Whatta they mean? Whatta they do?

Comments

Monocots have lateral thickening meristems that occur behind the shoot apical meristems. This is why rhizomes and shoots start small, but thicken. Some "palms" have lateral thickening meristems, others have secondary lateral thickening meristems. The issue is that how plants grow is insanely variable due to evolution. I've been doing this shit for decades, so mad respect for this, I always elevate your work as how anyone can learn without sleeping through hundreds of credits.
