BONUS EPISODE: "Wayne's World"

WE'RE BACK. Song vs. Song returns from hiatus and we're so happy we could blow chunks. You made us watch a movie we could recite in our sleep but does it hold up now that we can see what losers Wayne and Garth are? Listen and argue which of is Wayne and which of is Garth.

I'd argue the Wayne's World Corporate Sponsors Bit was the quintessential joke of the 1990s

Welcome back! I'm fairly sure I'm roughly Todd's age, but I grew up with older siblings and MTV so very different relationship with Wayne's World when it came out. It was probably the biggest live action cultural juggernaut for elementary school kids in the early 90s and exposed us older Millennials to a passé bit of 70s arena rock called "Bohemian Rhapsody. It was probably the live action counterpoint to The Simpsons in not really being for our age group, but we quoted it a lot. Speaking of the Simpsons, this is a fascinating exchange when rewatching: "Paramount wants you to do a buddy comedy with Rob Lowe and Hugh Grant..." "Those sick freaks!!!" (said by Troy McClure who is trying to revitalize his career that ended due to an eluded sexual proclivity for fish.)
