Have this old angsty animatic from when I was really struggling with my over-use arm injury and chronic pain. (drawn poorly, for obvious reasons) The video is meant to loop to create a cycle blah blah blah…

It’s still something that I have issues with now and then despite rest, stretching, physical therapy and surgery— but I’ve learned how to cope with it and am in a much better place now! I’m really lucky that it only bothers me from time to time after about 4 years of consistent pain.

It took me a long time not to take this injury “personally” and ask “why me?” everytime I was in pain and couldn’t draw. I felt like my body was betraying me, and preventing me from doing something I loved more than anything else. Especially when I saw other artists drawing with no pain. (the jealousy was real)

What helped me the most was to accept my injury, forgive my body, and love both by taking more breaks.

This is your reminder to take care of yourself first! My injury was caused from overworking my arm and pushing myself even when I was in pain. There will always be more work to be done, but you only have one body.
