2024-06-03 00:44:04 +0000 UTCI've never seen Shrek in English cs I grew up on the dubbed version (and after seeing it now I still prefer it dubbed; one thing my country is great at hahaha) so I'm glad I could see the original with you. It's such a classic, they play it on tv every Christmas in my country (dunno why during Christmas but it has become a tradition). Definitely more of a fairytale for adults lol but we all loved it even as kids. It's not only hilarious but it carries a beautiful message. I'm definitely up for watching part 2 and 3, they're just as good if not better than the first one. The rest is okay but I don't see myself coming back to it often, I actually barely remember what happens there. And I really, really hope you'll get to the rest of the movies in that poll, especially How to train your dragon - I rewatched the first movie today and it hit me again just how insanely good of a series it is (there's 3 parts, every one a masterpiece). Similarly to Shrek it's funny (one gotta appreciate Dreamworks' humor) and has a deep, beautiful message. I personally think you'd love it even more than Shrek hehe. Good to see you back with some lighthearted stuff, I didn't notice but I needed it myself as well.

It's been so long since I watched it, i had so much fun rewatching with you, I'm so glad you liked it. :) Gingerbread man it's my favorite <3 Donkey is awesome too. And the All star song now is forever associated with this movie for me. If you want to watch them all I'm so here for it. Also I love the spanish dubbed version of this movie 'cause Eugenio Derbez is the donkey and it is AMAZING! And the jokes are more cater to spanish speakers so it's really good.

Shrek 2+3 are both really good 4 is okay there are also Christmas and Halloween specials if you want something a little shorter with gingie and all the other more prominently in them

I remember going to the auditorium and they put it on, and we all stood up from our chairs (not me, obviously LOL) when "All-Star" played at the beginning and then "I'm A Believer" at the end. Such a great movie. And after watching this & the other Shrek movies so many times, I can't watch Mulan without seeing Mushu as Donkey. 😂 And even though I've watched this so many times, I just picked up something from watching with you! When Donkey & Shrek make it over the bridge, Shrek goes "That'll do, Donkey. That'll do." That's a callback to Babe! I can't believe I never picked up on that. I've watched Babe so many times. Another movie I would love for you to watch. Yes, please watch the other movies!! Especially the 2nd one. I believe there's more Gingerbread Man & Pinocchio in that one. Can't wait to see your reactions to the other movies from the poll and hopefully other ones as well! ❤️

2024-06-01 17:57:09 +0000 UTCEven though I have seen shrek in English, for the most part I’ve watched the dubbed version in my own language because I honestly think it’s better than the original because of the voice but also because of nostalgia. I wouldn’t mind watching you watch all four of them, but seeing as the fourth one isn’t peoples favorite I understand if you only watch up to the third one. Also I am really looking forward to more animated movies 🤗

2024-06-01 06:29:49 +0000 UTCjust finished watching it :) and there is 4 movies!!! shrek 2 is wildly considered the best movie in the whole series, shrek the third which is not my favorite but it was one of the first movies i saw in theaters so it has a special place in my heart, and shrek forever after, which i never really paid attention to but upon rewatch made me cry lol shrek and fiona are everything to me they’re so cute, donkey and puss in boots (which you’ll see in the 2nd movie, he even has two movies of his own) are iconic as well idk love this family the franchise means a lot to me

Born to Be Wild I completely forgot existed, but you said that and I was like why do they name all girl gorillas in movies Katie? Did it start with that movie because it was the first one I saw, lol. Only difference was I have never ever seen the Leo appeal. Like even Titanic, I thought it was a great movie for the story because I was always into the real event, but was never able to watch it more than twice. Once when it came out and then once when they made it 3D on the Imax a decade later because that was an experience I needed to have. Every one I knew was crushing on Leo and I was like, nah you can have him, lol. I feel bad (just a little) because I am sure some of his movies have great storylines but I can't bring myself to watch them. Alright, back to the rest of the reaction. Can't wait and hope you also do the How to Train Your Dragon series.

When I was a kid I was obsessed with those movies, my mom bought me the DVDs and I would watch them almost every day lol. The second one is the best, you have to watch it. You'll see a lot more of the side characters, the story is better and funnier. My favorite movie of the franchise.

This movie is such a time capsule like the needle drops, the quotable lines and I haven't seen this movie in forever and rewatching it with you just like literally put me in the best mood And Gingy (The gingerbread) man is my favorite character
