In 2019 I was diagnosed with stage 4 matestic bone cancer. I've been fighting ever since, I stopped the chemo bc it was killing me faster than the cancer. I have 3 kids and 3 grands. My baby just graduated from high school this past May. The last scan I had last month says there's nothing else they can do. I've fought this long, I intend to fight the rest of the way. I'm 40, I can't leave my parents, my husband, kids, and grandkids. I just pray for you, your family, and your Dad.

2024-08-27 19:59:04 +0000 UTCSteve- this is literally what happened to my dad. Renal Cancer- stage 4 spread to his lungs and he had a tumor in his brain. He lost movement in his left arm from the shoulder, couldn't lift his arm up. My dad was 6ft and just shrunk down to 93lbs. it kills me to see how much he went through at the end, but I am glad that I was there for him and he knew how much he was loved. Sending so much love & strength to you and your family.

2024-08-27 11:57:32 +0000 UTCI'm sorry Stevie, medical situations are really tough when it's your parents. It changes your perspective and especially when it happens while you are young. My dad lost both kidneys when I was 14. He also had fibrosis which crushed his aorta and his lower half was barely getting any blood flow so he wasn't able to walk for more than like a minute at a time. He told me that I should really take care of my health which he never said and he was the same as your Dad, wasn't going to tell me what was wrong with him. He was the strongest man I've ever known. I've heard stories of others who did the most incredible feats and had a story about them. My Dad needs a story or two about him. Your Dad probably too. Sounds like he has a story or two that the world should hear. Stay strong brother!

If he is in a state where you can sit beside and talk to him, let him know everything you want him to know. Whether it was 20 years ago or last month. So that when everything is said and done in the future you don't have any regrets. I've been in the same situation with a family member and I wish I could have said something but I didn't get chance to.
