Just subbed on patreon, did you never end up doing an album review for any Mac miller albums? I know you said you listened to him a bit outside of reactions but I wonder what you haven’t heard yet

2024-07-08 04:08:23 +0000 UTCOne thing about Mac, you usually have to look a little deeper than just surface level, to understand/ fully appreciate what he was doing. The reasoning behind the throwback "Grease" vibe you are getting, is because this song was sampled from a popular song from the 1930s, called "I Told Every Little Star" by Jack Denny and The Waldorf-Astoria Orchestra, featuring the vocals of Paul Small. Another artist, Linda Scott, sampled it and brought it back to life in the 60s. Fast forward to 2010, and you get this version here by Mac Miller... and just like that, you have a bunch of teenagers, vibing out to a modern day version, of an old classic and looking up artists that would soon be long forgotten. Just goes to show how intelligent and musically educated he was at such a young age.

2024-01-23 04:14:11 +0000 UTCIts good that you hear this, the best about Mac is his evolution, came from that to a complete musician and artist, not to shit on his debut album KIDS, I played it a lot when a was 16 or so. But his progress is just amazing.
