Knights of the Golden Circle | Secret Societies 3

The Knights of the Golden Circle's ambitious plans aim to establish a vast empire stretching from Virginia to Belize, perpetuating slavery and reshaping Latin America. However, poor planning and communication lead to chaos, and the expedition ultimately fizzles out, leaving Bickley's grand vision unrealized. Despite its failure, the Knights of the Golden Circle leave a lasting impact on history, influencing events such as the Confederate invasion of the Southwest.

A couple of things here: private individuals trying to take over native Governments is not nice and, also, empires are quite hard to govern if the people you're trying to govern don't want you there in the first place. As for not googling, my YouTube recommendations are already weird, since it ranges from movie and video game trailers, music videos and stuff my friends upload [which is all I want out of YouTube anyway, and it's how I first discovered Extra Credits] to videos by anti ~ transgender haters, which is pretty disturbing that YouTube allows that kind of filth, and rants by a former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom who was removed from Office after serving a grand total of 49 days. One more thing: I showed part of the first episode of this series to my Mother very recently, and I was wondering if that counts as snitching on the Ordo.

the fact that ppl were so desperate 2 uphold slavery that they created literal SECRET SOCIETIEZ iz crazy 2 me

It's actually kinda hilarious to consider, but had these people succeeded, the civil war could have gone even more spectacularly wrong for the confederacy, as now they'd be fighting a war on two, maybe even three fronts between the North, Mexico and Central America, and the Carribbean. Slavery had been abolished in many of these states prior to that point in history, and integrating them all by force into the US as slave states would just have set the whole thing off with even more momentum behind total abolition as an immediate goal of the opposing side of the war.

Great episode as always. I keep looking out for a certain corgi of the business variety. πŸ‘€ Hoping to see him soon.

It's important to note that Texas seceded from Mexico to preserve slavery.
