Goddess Maker Mechanic: INTERACTIVE SEX

In Goddess Maker, Sex can either be a scripted narrative event, or more commonly, an interactive sequence, the latter which will be explored in this mechanic summary.
Developer’s Mindset
Sex in a lot of fetish games is often reserved in limited regard for special moments, made as its central focal point, or disregarded completely.
And in Goddess Maker, sex has been chosen by the developer to be an apparent and ongoing feature in embrace of the Ascension Fetish medium, made special by its diversity of variations, such as size difference and whatnot.
Simplicity and Diversity
It would be disastrous to make the sex system complex, at least from the player frontend, where the accumulated mechanics obfuscate affection when giving the player too many ongoing choices, as opposed to a direct feedback loop.
No, what would be preferable is a straightforward system where access to sex can be as quick as selecting a commodity, and its engagement is contained to the player’s discretion.
Following this logic, what I wish to build is a single format sex simulator, whose theming and aesthetic is malleable, but not its gameplay loop.
This “one fits all” approach, also means the choice of sexual partner isn’t fixed to a scenario, inviting openness and possibility to all sexual partners, assuming they’re outfitted with a complementary graphic.
If Goddess Maker aims to be a fetish game simulator that also incorporates the community’s OCs / waifus in a smaller form factor, it would make sense to alleviate the interactive sex issue beforehand and before the framework can no longer be amended.
Sex as a Luxury
If the whole point of the player having sex is to fulfill their own satisfaction, I think it should last of long as the player wills to seek it, and not a moment more.
For a system to be developed where it’s dependent on the player’s pursuit of it, I think access to sex can be treated a luxury to supplement the experience, available to the player if they go look for it.
Also given the Ascension Fetish mandate, it would be keen to allow for this sexual access to cover the whole spectrum of ascension, so that sex with a goddess can be played with as a fanservice, after they ascend.
Sex as a Mechanic
Personally I would consider the interactive sex in Goddess Maker, fully optional and a quality of life feature, except for circumstances where it plays a role in the gameplay, like how it plays in a malleable human relationship or tuned to the development of attributes.
Take the “Lab of God” game section for example and how being involved romantic relationship expects the player character to have sex frequently, else face relationship issues for not showing enough affection.
These human relationship elements are not typically explored in games, but as this is also a simulation of humanity prior to ascension, it should include the needs that makes one human; the desire for sex being a thematic parallel to the desire of becoming a god.
Considering the aspect of desire, “The Player” is not the only one with agency to express desire, as “The Partner” also has the mechanism of desire that she too wishes to fulfill, that is often more far more expressive in the intention of making it known.
So if the expectation of having sex often is key to keeping a positive relationship, it tests the player’s commitment to fulfill their role in the relationship.
Sex as a Polymorphic Activity
As it’s established that “sex” is required for making the most of a specific leaning playthough, this not to say that Goddess Maker is one of those sandbox games, where sex is akin to a RPG battle, where the grind is the obvious problem.
It’s that the gameplay template is shared across various variants of sexual and nonsexual activity in hopes that it will give the player “feeling” whilst pursuing their agenda in the simulation.
And given that this “sex” simulation mechanic can encapsulate other activities outside of sex, like using the system to personalize the development of one’s body and the general expansion of what constitutes intimacy, it’s a perspective where the illusion of quantity makes up for the quality.
Given the wide range of sexual possibilities of ordinary and elevated ascension related scenarios, I say that the quantity has indefinite potential.
Some Notable Sex Variants Include:
•Absorptive Sex, an attribute transfer sex from male to female, where succubus traits are in play.
•Ascension Sex, a sex scenario where the sexual partner is currently ascending into a goddess, and shares the pleasure with the player.
•Bath Sex, a sex scenario where the player engages in intercourse with a sexual partner inside a body of water.
•Blowjob, a variant where the sexual partner takes control and works to ejaculate the player’s penis with her mouth.
•Boob Hug, a variant where the partner takes the agency to press and rub her breasts against the player’s head.
•Breast Expansion Sex, a sex scenario where the breast size of sexual partner increases in reaction to the player’s penetrative pumps.
•Breast Feeding, a variant where the player sucks on the partner’s breasts.
•Breast Fondle, a non sexual variant where the player caresses the partner’s breasts.
•Cherry Popping Sex, an initial sex variant when having sex with a gal for the first time due their virginity.
•City Sex, a variant where one’s a giant making love to a giantess partner on a city set piece.
•Comfort, a nonsexual variant in where the player initiates positive reactions from the partner through implied compliments.
•Cuddle, a nonsexual variant where the player and sexual partner’s bodies are pressed together in an intimate fashion.
•Dominant Position Penetration, a variant where the player engages in the doggystyle sex position with the sexual partner.
•Handjob, a variant where the sexual partner takes control and works to ejaculate the player’s penis with her hands.
•Handholding, a nonsexual variant where the player and the partner play with holding their hands together.
•Hug, a nonsexual variant in where the player hugging the partner can lead to feeling the partner’s breasts press against their chest.
•Kiss, a non-sexual variant, where if continuous, the player can make out with a partner.
•Omni Sex, a sex scenario where all of reality is the player’s sexual partner.
•Pamper, a nonsexual variant where the partner takes control to comfort the player with a massage.
•Penis Growth Sex, a variant where the player’s penis grows bigger during the course of a sexual intercourse with the partner.
•Romantic Dance, a variant in where the player intimately dances with a partner.
•Submissive Position Penetration, a variant where the player engages in the cowgirl sex position with the sexual partner.
•Teasing, a non-sexual variant where the partner has the agency to continuously tease the player.
•Tit Pump, a variant where the sexual partner takes control and works to ejaculate the player’s penis with her breasts.
•Thigh Hump, a variant where a smaller player humps the larger sexual partner’s thigh.
•And much, much more…
Note that some of these variants involve fulfilling lengthy prerequisites before enabling the opportunity.
Tenets of the Format
The majority of the interactive “sex” sequences follow the same gameplay structure based on these tenets:
•A single mechanism of control, enveloped in a point and click environment, where player hesitation is a factor.
•Fits the mold of every character combination with minor tweaks.
•Quantity over quality in terms of scenarios and depth of interaction.
•Made with sex in mind, but can also be outfitted with different activities.
Interactive Sequence & Control
(1) Ask / Approached for Sex
• The initial forward motion by one party.
• From the player’s side, variant must be specified. Else it’s chosen by algorithm.
(2) Consent
• The other party’s agreement to participate or deny to void the sequence from progressing.
• Because sex requests are initiated based on a catalog of variants , the partner may deny one variant, but consent to another, like denying normal intercourse but consenting to having her thigh humped, due to a vast size difference.
• Although, it may seem redundant, for masturbation, consent of self and scenario is still applicable, as exhaustion from one self can appear to deny the sequence.
(3) Foreplay
•The start of the “sex” session, where the mouse button hovers on making a point and click decision.
•Foreplay ranges from the other character giving compliments and comments, performing stimulating actions in anticipation to the main event, or just waiting for the player to act, like complaining about wanting to be penetrated when the player neither acts nor ends the session.
•Only during the "Foreplay" section of the “sex” session can the player freely leave the session or proceed to “Initial Action”.
•Foreplay has a minute or so time limit where the session ends due to the player’s inactivity, coinciding with the partner’s exit or a proclaimed hesitancy to continue.
(4) Initial Action
•Initial Action occurs immediately after clicking the mouse button, anywhere but the exit input during the “Foreplay” section.
•Examples include the initial penetration prior to the repetition of intercourse pumps, or the starting touch to a continuous feel.
•If the mouse isn’t clicked again under a few second time limit, then the action will be counted as non continuous, skipping the “Continuous Action” and going straight to the “Releasing Action”, where the action will be clarified as not continuous, such as giving a simple kiss but not making out.
(5) Continuous Action
If the player clicks again within seconds of the “Initial Action”, this begins the “Continuous Action” section where the player is now prompted to click, click, click, as a show of their affection.
•This activity is perpetual, as long as the player keeps clicking and not stopping for a few seconds
•The system keeps tracks for how long the player engages in clicking, like altering the sexual partner’s expression when the player commits to 10 minutes of clicking without releasing their passion.
•For variants such as sex, a gauge will appear that affects the following releasing action, that fills up depending on how long the player continues clicking.
(6) Releasing Action
•When the player stops clicking during the “Continuous Action” the releasing action plays, which is a consequence of the sequence.
•Like if the formerly mention gauge is filled then it would result in an ejaculation of some sort, same can be said if the player releases from the continuous action early, which results in an awkward pulling out of the penis (assuming penetrative sex is in play).
(3) Foreplay (Repeated)
•After the “Releasing Action” concludes, the “Foreplay” section is cycled back to, allowing for a new “sex” session to begin or to be left.
•”Foreplay” tends to update based on the previous situations, like the expression from the sexual partner wanting to have sex again.
•Some variants also cycle to a new sub-variant with foreplay serving as an in between, like City Sex, where the opportunity to play with the terrain changes.
Note that "mouse clicks" can be substituted for keyboard clicks or controller clicks, it's just that Goddess Maker is developed with a point and click interface in mind, trusting that affection isn't being shown through auto clicker application, but rather the player's own commitment.
CPU Agency
For the variants that circulate around the non-player’s agency, like the partner giving a player a blowjob, or being a bystander to one character making out with another character, these are appropriately simulated through the discretion of the CPU.
Using an algorithm of random numbers and parameters, CPU agency can be achieved that hopes to deliver on an experience, where the player can sit back and let the computer do all the work, whilst granting the player the opportunity to leave during the “Foreplay” interval or by the CPU’s own decision to conclude.
This is similar to the partner character's agency during the work sections in the “Lab of God” section; however, more relevant to the player’s sense of time, so to feel personalized and not rushed for time.
Variance of the Major Variants
As system also covers being a bystander to another couple having sexual intercourse and one’s own masturbation, I should clarify the range of variance that this system encompasses.
Mostly the only difference being that the computer takes an active clicking role in the engagement, as opposed to the player, in matters where it's appropriate that the player doesn't have control:
•Player -> Partner (player motion, ex. penetrative sex)
•Partner -> Player (cpu motion, ex. handjob)
•Player -> Player (player motion, ex. masturbation)
•Partner -> Partner (cpu motion, ex. bystander to a pillow being humped)
•Third Wheel (cpu motion, ex. bystander to another couple’s sex)
•Player Self Development (player motion, ex. weight lifting)
•Partner Self Development (cpu motion, ex. bystander to a self-affirmation mirror exercise)
•Player -> Partner Development (player motion, ex. beautification praise)
•Partner* -> Player Development (cpu motion, ex. cheering up)
•Third -> Partner Development (cpu motion, ex. breast massage for bigger breasts)
Note for the intimate ones only, except the one with *, note that “Partner” can be substituted with another female character.
Although there are plans for a game section where the player takes the point of view of a female, assume for now that all the controllable intimate sessions are from the male perspective.
Sequence Expression
Sequence Expression during the “sex” sessions is the main selling point to why a player should care about engaging in the activity, as it’s basically the text-read soul of the session.
Given that each variant has it’s own library of expressions to pull from and whose content relates to the scenario at hand, there is quite a lot of creativity that goes into it from writing out moans and funny comments.
Since the player is nonverbal, the expression is narrowed down to either come from the partner, another couple, or from “The Player”’s own subconscious.
In situations where the player is paired with a female character, the female character becomes a cheerer of sorts, that motivates the player to continue showing affection (a.k.a. mouse clicks).
Visuals, Animation, and Live 2D Compatibility
If “Sequence Expression” is the soul, then the visuals would be the bodily expression of the “sex” session interactive work.
The “one fits all” system is intended to paired with animated loops because if we’re going with the logic that mouse clicks equals individual penetrations, then the moving activity of the image is meant to play in sync to the player’s repetitive movements.
Though it should be admitted, that this would be the most difficult part to implement due to visual development being more time consuming than coding.
To this the solution, there is a spectrum of effort that can be implemented from obscuring the activity to developing the full animation loop specific to both the character and variant.
Applications such as the Live 2D application can help alleviate the work by fostering a animation loop through a single modified image.
And voluntary contributions and commissions are other options I am open to access if the circumstances deem it a positive development.
But this is the only glaring flaw of this system, something that would be amazing when done correctly, but may feel undercooked if done poorly.
Differing Playstyles and Attributes
A short note, but the “sex” session system is made so that the individual variants can be tweaked to fit a certain character’s personality better and consider attribute variables such as penis size and height difference.
In terms of gameplay, this can affect the satisfaction of a relationship, like for example the apparent notion that a small penis penetrating in a large female’s body will equate to the woman not being satisfied during the session.
Considering the earlier remark about denying sex due to size difference, the general rule is when the attribute difference is within reason the appropriate sessions can be considered, while absurd differences are outright rejected.
Also when sexual content is turned off, sexual variants are substituted in their entirely with non-sexual variants, so if a player is doing a non-sexual piggy playthrough they can still enjoy all this, but in the place of penetration is cuddling and hand holding.
Comments
The variants do calculations based on one’s mass divided in ratio to another’s mass, as well as how the other attributes play in the scene, regardless of the character combination, as each NPC has their own embedded attribute stats. Though access to sex is limited across NPCs, even though it’s applicable to every male-female combination, the potential is there to explore. And the general rule is the size difference is significant then it’s separate variants, whom benefit from having an unique library to pull from.

Previously you've shown tge player could be reduced in stature as well, so would size difference variants exist for the various other female characters for these? Would be interesting to see their perspectives on that situation, especially since many don't benefit from the height aspect of the lab. I think there'd be potential for routes where the experience plants a desire in them for more growth, but that would also be adding more into the development...
