Testing Daz Studio 4.8 Beta. It has a new GPU accelerated render engine. The results are much more realistic than Daz's normal 3Delight engine, and the GPU accelerated option makes it render faster than Luxrender. LuxRender is a render engine that can make some very realistic renders, but it takes hours, sometimes days, to get a clean image. It uses only the computer's CPU, that's why its so slow. Another engine I'd like to get, called Octane, can render and get this quality in only a few minutes. The problem is everything required for the scene is stored on the card, and since my card is small, I cant do large scenes in Octane. Daz's new render engine combines CPU and GPU rendering, to make it faster than a CPU renderer but without the limitations of a GPU only renderer. I don't think my renders are going super fast because I have a pretty average, if not below average, graphics card, so its slower than a 3Delight render. Now that I'm done blabbering, I'm considering offering this sort of quality for commissions. They'd be more expensive due to the extra setup and render time, but quality wise they'd come out better. There are a few limitations on them, the big one is I cant currently do custom hair/fur on these renders. But when I start offering these, I will be putting aside a portion of the money toward a new computer (with a bigger graphics card...).
