Agreed about the history of the drug's development. It all feels very villain-reveals-all-his-plans-before-they-come-to-fruition around that stage. But now that I think about it , there's a reason why stories do that so often: it works for the audience. Wherever that explanation is eventually placed, I'm thinking there could be a "side effect" here, showing us details in the change to become more and more Cindy. Alongside the behavioral conditioning courtesy of Julia's AI, this episode could easily leave a residual bit of Quinn's suggestions, e.g., "You enjoy feeling sexy." I like the delivery of the mini-twist: "I told you all along. I know the bartender." This draws me into reading more closely, which adds to engagement. Now I as the reader don't want to miss any other details that might hint at another twist.

Quinn is a high watermark bastard and his eventual comeuppance will be sweet. I wonder what Darius has in store for him. A fate a few orders of magnitude worse than death seems very appropriately underworld, in the Techno-Hades sense of the world. The allusion that this is in the chronologically recent future from Julia's revenge throws even more dark shadows on it all. The near future drug effects are very believably written, feeling grounded in the alternate reality of the story. Although, as much as the history of the drugs development is well worth including, I think it might be better transposed to a different scene? It seems tangential, and as far as Quinn is concerned, it might be detrimental to his programming plans given it's semantic operation. One small typo earlier on the wrong 'base' regarding bass music playing below. Great return to form after your rest. Thank you.
