Added 2024-12-10 08:33:43 +0000 UTCWhat's up y'alls. Here's some more of my favorite sketches/pieces from the past few days. I've been better at getting in the habit of practicing my painting techniques just for fun; without having the explicit intention for sharing or using for content.
That being said, I think the two weird floating head people are pretty fun. It's been a while since I've exercised my knowledge on painting/defining the forms of the face, and how skin tone and lighting plays into that for added believability. One thing I enjoy doing is exaggerating and minimizing features, sorta like a caricature artist, to really make a character look unique and visually interesting. It's a great way to test that previously mentioned knowledge on the forms and just general structure of the head!
While I do enjoy painting very simplified characters and features, it's fun to let loose and render wrinkles, folds, irregularities, and generally just more complex forms- it makes me feel more like i'm sculpting with clay rather than painting! haha
