2025-09-25 07:30:27 +0000 UTCOMG CHEY get out of my head! When I saw Jacob, I immediately thought, "it's Dakota Stanley!" (bc I've been rewatching Glee w Brad Evans). This was my "comfort" horror movie because I bought it on VHS with my allowance at Woolworth's when I was probably about 13 or 14. The VHS is actually valuable now because it has an extended version of Greta's death scene that got cut from streaming and DVD- after Freddy finished feeding Greta bits of the Greta-doll, he actually starts scraping up her guts- from where her stomach has burst- and feeding them back to her. It's pretty awful and sad (and obviously memorable, because I haven't seen it in literal decades but I can remember what Greta's belly looked like CLEARLY. And in the scene later when Alice has her ultrasound, you can see the result on Greta's stomach)- but Dan's death is the one that hits me the hardest, just because it's such a disturbing body horror moment- the way the wires and such invade his arms and legs and face...it gets me every time!
