I actually saved your post to re-read on a rainy day :) People (such as yourself) who feel such strong attachment to WT is the main reason I am considering this remaster thing. Back at the day I knew I am wasting my time on a silly game but I couldn't help it. But all these years later I find out that my toils bac then were not in wain, and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Thank you for that.

I would like to see the high def assets, but I dont think I would play the same game. I am not asking (maybe a little) but would be interesting to see additional images, for example for each quest, she retell what happened with an image representing that. but at the same time, why not use the assets on SC34? Make as a holodeck simulation for snape

i personally feel if you go back to WT it needs more than just a remaster of graphics. it was left an unfinished chaotic mess with so much plot and technical bugs. the modding world has done so much to enhance but it is def not a game made to same quality as your others

I'd like to explain my "I don't mind" answer a bit(WALL O' TEXT AND LIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD): I really loved WT. It was my first introduction to your work and I found myself surprised by the quality of both the art and the game itself. The writing was pretty darn good, too. My expectations were pretty low but it managed to surprise me at almost every turn, so being able to see it at a higher resolution would be a treat. If you already have the assets and swapping them would be easy-ish, I think that would be really cool to see. The danger, however, is that I think most of us would *also* like a bigger, more interesting remaster which is NOT what you're planning. More options for training her, more art, maybe a few alternate endings including one with a bit more...permanence? I worry that a smaller-scale project might not get the response that you'd like, although it would definitely be a good impetus for me to replay the game. Moreover, once you *start* tweaking who knows how you feel about it? You might fall in love with the project all over again and descend into many myriad rabbit holes. Which might be fun and cathartic but also a distraction from Other Projects. :)

New Patreon here but played your games for a long time. Glad to hear you are feeling better! Witch Trainier (Silver is great for the additions) is one of my favorite adult games and, while I would love a remastered version, I would always lean towards more content a little more, like a DLC or something. Either way is great, I just didn't want the journey to end when I got through all the current content. Was genuinely attached to the characters, sad that it was over, and just wanted more to do with them. Either way is great though since a remaster would be a great excuse to play through it again. Also, as a side note, idk if that would mess up the silver version, but it would be amazing to work it so that either a remaster or dlc would work together with the additions silver brought to the table.

This game brought me into the world of indie adult games when I found it, got me donating to patreon games to see other adult goodies get made. Original WT was great at the time, but 10 years later it's very limited and grindy compared to the new revamped WT Silver which adds many characters, quests, gameplay and some quality of life stuff. If you feel like working on WT, I'd rather want you to work with WT Silver team, and design new art and quests, instead of remaking the same game in 4K. Just share the assets online, I'm sure they will use them if needed.

Personally, while WT was a good game, with WT Silver existing and in active development I don't really see the point in you spending time changing the original WT at this point. You do you, but I'm not going to be going back and playing vanilla WT when the greatly expanded Silver version exists.

Hi Akabur, if the game is basically getting rebuilt, I'd say invest the time into making a Witch Trainer sequel, with more assets. Same content like you mentioned above with Snape and the bird, but with added content. Maybe private tutoring that was teased in-game or additional girls. I really enjoyed the WT game so if it's getting rebuilt/remastered, might as well go with a sequel.

How would this affect Silver Studio Games? They are currently already making HD assets of the Witch Trainer game.

I am two minds about it. I could see you spending three months on it. The positive part is it'll give you inspiration for new stuff and help you improve with things. On the other hand you could probably get a release of content for the time you spend to make a remake. Spending time to backup all your old work on multiple hard drives and gives the digital stuff to multiple people may be the best way to go.

Okay, I'll try to keep it short. WT was and always will be the game I hold really close to my heart. It may sound silly as hell but I played in my teens (for legal reasons I will say I was 18 not 16) and it helped me deal with a lot of shit I was going through at the time. It was the comfiest gaming experience I had, I even made a wallpaper engine wallpaper using the office you created. It is very dear to me and I would love nothing more than seeing it remastered (or refreshed at least). I'm not going to lie it would be awesome if we could get a cg or two in there but other than that I am all for this remaster thingy. Using the occasion I will say that I love your work and I really really want you to succeed in any endeavour. You don't know that but your work really helped me find comfort when I needed it, and it brings me comfort to this very day. I love your all your stuff. But I am voting we don't need it. The reason I say this is just for me personally, but I'd rather see new stuff coming from you rather than just a graphics update. It might be good for the people that haven't played the original release. The there is the modding community doing work on the original version, and I really enjoy all the new stuff that they added to your already amazing game. And if I was going to play it again it would be that version. Now if you were going to be adding a decent amount of new content to the game then I'd be all for it, but only as a graphics overhaul, nah I just don't see it when you could be doing something new. Whether that is more SC34 or Magic Shop continuation or even a dedicated interactive game based on your old comics with April and crew, anything really to keep you from getting burnt out. That said, it's your time, your mental health. You do you, and I'll still be here supporting.

Please make something new! SC is now so much better then when you started it. Put everything you learned over the years and make something new. And please don't wrap up SC, it's a good place to do something fun in a small episode. Because you can timetravel and go everywhere, you created a perfect place to come back to once in a while to tell a story that doesn't fit in your new (big) project.

I'd love to see the game not only remastered but improved, but at the same time I must say you rather save your health for new projects (be it SC34 or not). So my suggestion is this: why don't you let us handle it? Truth be told, there are plenty of skilled coders among your fans, but none has your humor or your talent for art. Should you upload your assets and code to BitBucket/GitHub (free account), I'm 100% sure your Akafans could totally handle the remastering project: cropping, transforming, rearranging and so on. And all under your surveillance and approval. We send you Pull Requests with well-documented changes and whenever you have the time just check them and approve them or reject them. Akafans do the hard work for you like devoted minions, the game is still yours. Lemme know if you're curious or dig by yourself. Accept or reject this idea. Whatever you do, we're with you.

4K thing was just a joke. 1920x1080 would probably what I would go with. Or maybe even 1270x720.

I like WT. Still play it on occasion. The HD for me would be best if it increased the character detail. The one scene I think would best to enhanced the most is the dancing on the desk. The modification of the text in repeated actions to add different text would be good. Example, Hermione goes out to flirt but does it with a freshman. The text is the same if this happens again, I assume at some point the selection is random,. It seems like it it happens again the text might change a bit. Hermione might come back and acknowledge that she could only find a freshman boy again or tried to flirt with the same one again. I think changes like this adds depth to the game. But this might be too much work and I would not want you to do that if that is the case. Having seen you work over the years, I think it will be hard for you to just up the resolution. If you do more reach out to others to help change things like I had suggested. Others can come up with all dialog without changing the thrust of the game. I hope to see your new ideas soon. Now pace yourself and make a full recovery.

When I played WT I never thought "this is a good game, I just wish the graphics were better". What you spend your time working on is your call, and I'll support you whatever you decide, BTH I doubt I'd go back and replay WT again even if it had better graphics. Having grown up with 8bit and 32bit games the graphics or screen size is no issue for me. Content, gameplay and game logics are far more important. However, if it's the kind of challenge that would benefit your health and creativity the most, then I'd say go for it. One gotta work with the audience but no creator no creation of culture. It may be slightly unnecessary to update WT, as Silver Studio Games has been working on WT for awhile. It's unofficial obviously and probably some sort of IP theft since they get patreon bucks for it. However they've given it quite a face lift. It might save you a lot of time to possibly reach out to them with updated art assets rather than having to recode everything.

Dunno. I already love the original to bits, but if you were going to add new stuff to it as well as remaster it... that'd be amazing. That being said, if it's not going to be much work just to scale everything and leave the same game underneath, why not? It's an excuse as good as any for me to play it again :D

Personally I find a simple upscale remaster unneeded. It's good as is honestly. If those are the only goals it just feels unneeded to me. Id rather that you work on your current projects. And if you ever go back to WT it should be to make a Gold edition like you did with PT. Though It is fantastic to hear you are doing better. That makes me happy :)

WT is the one I keep coming back to. I've probably replayed it six or seven times, and a better resolution would be totally awesome!

I like the idea, even though I’d really appreciate if the chibi animations got a bit of an update as well. Will still replay the whole game regardless though

I am STOKED for a WT Remaster (even though, we both know I'd sell my soul to the Devil for a Platinum/Diamond/Whatever Edition). Still, getting a "better" WT is a yes for me :D I'm also glad to read that you're getting better, BroWaifu, that's really reassuring ! I hope your health will get back to normal as soon as possible, being well is something so good we don't usually see it until something bad happens to us.
