Yep, unless I'm going somewhere fancy, my daily carry is a folding Husky box cutter (with clip!) that I found on the side of the road one day when walking. They retail for $10.

I had come to the same conclusion but settled on a different knife. Walmart has a $10 Ozark Trail knock off of the Benchmade Bugout that works fine for pretty much everything. I actually bought 3 of them and rotate between them. If I fly somewhere, I can go buy one at Walmart and then throw it out or give it away before flying back.

One of my first jobs was at a hardware store when I was 15. They had a knife display that I nerded out on. I was super into the tactical knives and ended up pocket carrying a huge Strider folder. Grew out of that phase, scaled down to 3” folders for a while. I have been carrying a grandpa knife for every day tasks for about 10 years now. Even though it’s smallish when I lose it or break it I will replace it with an even smaller Old Timer knife. Just don’t have much need for anything bigger and pocket space is limited with my choice of pants.
