[M4A] Choosing a Poem for my English Class [BFE] but also [Friends] [Reading] you [Poetry] by [Emily Dickinson] and [Sylvia Plath] a few [Groans] some [Giggles] [Improv] [SFW]
Added 2020-12-29 23:39:11 +0000 UTCHello dear friends!
I come to you today with the first of the two November commission audios! Honestly, I'm a pretty big fan of poetry. In high school, I actually entered a poetry contest and was published! I contemplated sharing that poem, but like, it's published under my actual name lol. Maybe I'll try and write something specifically to share with you guys! Is that something that you think you'd be interested in?
BACK TO THE AUDIO: Full disclosure, the winner sent me a few poems they'd like read, so I chose from those. I didn't actually read the poems before recording (what an amateur smh) so these were some pretty genuine reactions. I love a sombre poem though. I love that soft feeling in your tum that makes you question the situations you're in... I'm rambling lol π
Entyway, thank you for continuing to support me on Patreon! I'll do a draw for the December commission on the 31st and reach out afterwards. On that note, I've decided that since all tiers are entered, all tiers should get to listen! So all monthly commission audios will be available to all tiers. Also, please let me know what you thought of this audio! Should I stick to reading manga? Was it weird to hear me be serious for so long? Did I make you sleepy? Let me know in the comments below π₯°

Lmao no no no it's okay! Just proves that I'll have to make another one at some point since it's so desired by the people π€

2021-02-06 18:06:46 +0000 UTCOmg, Iβve been going through these patreon posts in reverse order so I totally missed this. I feel redundant asking for poetry in the request box now π . I guess I canβt complain though! πΈπ

2021-02-06 05:34:33 +0000 UTCHahaha I'm hardly famous! Just good at putting teenage angst into a body of text π I'm genuinely surprised at how many of you vibe with poetry! It's not what I would expect from the community lol. I really enjoy that sombre vibe. It feels so ideal in regards to reflection. I suppose I'm really just describing the "melancholy vibes" you mentioned. YOU ARE SO GOOD WITH WORDS WISC! Anyway, thank you for listening! I hope that I can continue to deliver a sense of range in my work to come π₯°

2020-12-30 21:30:00 +0000 UTCAPPARENTLY PATREON DELETED MY COMMENT SO NOW I GOTTA REWRITE ALL THIS π€π€π€ First of all, yes please to the poetry! Please share with us your creative endeavours π₯° Published poet? Donβt forget us when youβre famous Cap! Second, choose Sylvia Plath! Her work always generates so much discussion in classes because thereβs so much vitriol and RAGE and empowerment in her poems; everyoneβs always a little timid to start talking because you can tell sheβs just been through a lot, but once you break the ice thereβs so much to analyze. FINALLY, thank you for doing these readings! You had an amazing selection of poems to work with but you also picked out my favourites out from the list lol. You already know your voice is soothing, but when you read poems, your voice takes on this reverent, ruminant quality that just tugs at my heartstrings. Whenever I read βBecause I could not stop for Death / He kindly stopped for meβ on paper, it gives me the chills, but hearing it read aloud by you? It gave me extra melancholy vibes. And props to you for Daddy. Itβs not an easy piece to get through, especially on a cold read (every stanza is like a big Yikes lol). One of my favourite lines from that is, βAnd I said I do, I do / So daddy, Iβm finally through.β And your delivery absolutely did it justice. You made me feel small and exhausted and triumphant all at once. Thank you for doing this reading (and also to Carla for coming up with this idea). I think these poems, because of their more reflective, somber nature, let us see a different side of you that we normally see which is great βΊοΈ We love a man with range.
