Now that the schedule has cleared up somewhat I want to outline my plan going forward.
This week: Haikyuu x 2, Vinland Saga x 2, Q&A
Next week and ongoing (tentative): Haikyuu x 2, Vinland Saga x 2, Jujutsu Kaisen x 1
NOTES:
- The next time a show ends, the replacement show will be Hunter X Hunter (at long last). The following show will be decided by poll, which is always a good time :D
- I had to re-upload the Demon Slayer finale on YouTube in two parts due to copyright issues. This time for the part 2 reupload, I included a reaction to the season 4 teaser. It will be up within the next hour or so, and that section starts at the 13:21 mark.
- I can add more videos of the above shows to the schedule, BUT that depends partly on my question for the poll below:
With Dragon Prince season 5 coming out soon, I can watch season 4 now in the lead-up to season 5. But since it's been so long since season 3 I thought it would be a good idea to gauge interest.
So let me know what you think (on this topic and any other mentioned above)

I also think that show peaked in S2 and had issues with S3, so unless the reaction to S5 is overwhelmingly positive, I won't bother with it. In that case, the Goodwin reactions would be the only reason and way I'd watch it, but it would still be low priority for me. But yeah, even I was surprised the result was so clear, I thought it'd be more even...

They kinda forced Season 3 to be a de facto ending in case the show got cancelled, than it got greenlit for the full 7 seasons but seems like they might've got large budget cuts on the production side or just massive production issues in general. Really unfortunate stuff. Best case scenerio would be somehow Mike and Bryan rekindle there relationship with Aaron and they teamup again for the first time since ATLA for the upcoming Avatar Studios Paramount+ content and the theatrical animated movies. I have no faith in any of the upcoming Avatar content, both the Netflix live action remake and the Avatar Studios animated media due to the complete lack of Aaron's involvement.

It’s amazing that such a good, older manga like Vinland Saga is getting the red carpet treatment finally. Other manga like Berserk, Vagabond, Goodnight Punpun don’t have that.

The characters are absolutely amazing and it tears your heart in half. There is some otaku humor in it, but that’s basically the only flaw. It’s 24 episodes.

And my interpretation was that if Dragon prince is not of priority, Goodwin would add more slots for either Vinland Or Haikyuu(?), which I'm more in favour of. So I apologize to the people who wanted dragon prince and to Goodwin if he wanted to watch it...

2023-06-27 08:55:50 +0000 UTCFor me I think it's a bit of option a and a bit of option b. I think that unfortunately DP season 4 was just pretty disappointing after such a long wait. I think if season 5 can recapture the magic again then it'll just be a small blip on what I think is an overall decent show but we don't know if season 4 is a sign of things to come or not until season 5 comes out. I think people in the mean time would rather Goodwin watch other shows that are certified bangers as it were. I'm all for DP season 4 and beyond at some point, (maybe in the weekly slot?) but it's not that urgent.

It was the first show I did (along with FMAB) after finishing both Avatar series, and Dragon Prince made total sense as it shares a writer. But a lot of time has passed and there have been so many shows in between....

It's really sad, because lesser known show requests in a poll often feel dead on arrival with the majority of reaction channels. I'd love to be proven wrong, as it's quite the powerful show, and it has real reaction potential.

Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting that the reason someone voted would invalidate their choice. I'm merely curious, as I thought the show was more popular. Maybe too much time has passed since the show debuted? Or maybe I was mistaken about it being popular? I also wonder if people mistakenly think you're asking them to pick between Hunter x Hunter and Dragon Prince. I thought you were pretty clear about HxH reactions coming soon, but the poll results thus far seem too shockingly one sided for a show that is (or was) popular... and that makes me wonder why. If you were weighing DP reactions against another show, I could understand these poll results, but that's not what you're doing (unless I'm the one who misunderstood). As for me, while I can't say that Dragon Prince is a high priority on the list of shows I want reactions to right now, I'd absolutely watch along if you did.

One of the most wholesome, inspiring, relatable, and lovingly produced shows I've seen, all neatly tied up into a tight, 13 episode package. A single weaker episode with the rest being straight bangers start to finish. I recommend this show to everyone who cares to listen.

It's so heart wrenching and raw that I would love to know your opinions on it, it's a gambling anime about a guy in his early 20's down on his luck with massive debts that goes through very dark "gambling games" while his morality and life is always at risk. It's quite mature and interesting. Also, 91 days is another anime you might be interested in, although it's lesser known and might not be a good choice for reacting, maybe something you would like to see in your spare time, just spitballing here.

It would go well to fill in the “not action oriented” slot that Goodwin watches alongside the shonen like MHA and Haikyuu, and that’s coming from someone who isn’t generally interested in the shows that have ended up there
