Jujutsu Kaisen 1x10 Reaction Extended (YT link below)

In Jujutsu Kaisen 1x10 Idle Transfiguration, Junpei discusses the meaning of love and hate and the value of a human soul with who I'm sure is an unbiased thinker with no agenda.

“What is with Japan?!” “Lessons we’ve learned from anime: student club life is everything, a lot of dispute over rooms and members, everyone in middle school is in a gang, especially girls, people go into alleyways for no reason, bump into people, fail to apologize, and die. Sounds like a lot of fun,” “Have you internalized nothing?” “There’s something so universally hateable about bullies. I think part of it is because beauty is already so scarce in the world, to come along and destroy something beautiful because of your own spite, means that in some way, at least in that moment, you’re an incarnate of evil itself,” “Potential is almost an axiomatic beautiful thing,” “Hate and love are connected. They’re both about significance. Both hate and love are the same in that they’re attention,” “I like people who answer with ‘it depends’. That’s how I know we’re gonna get along,” “What I am in the scope of what is is infinitesimally small and negligible. But to me, that’s the extent of it,” “There will never be a universe in which I didn’t live,” “There is no grasping meaning without also grasping some sort of responsibility and responsibility is difficult and dangerous, because it robs you of the ability to make excuses and forces you to confront the pain of your own existence and the pain of truth so that you can be best aligned with what you actually are and what the truth actually is as best as you can understand it,” “What is school when you’re contemplating the meaning of existence?” “This is not the kind of question for this man,” “F- school!” “I guess running is difficult,” “His feet are kinda bugging me,” “It’s animal violence. I don’t approve of this,”

Awesome series so far! Should have watched it when it was airing!

ArmdVctr

Man even mama Yoshino has some really cool and interesting perspectives as a parent in the next episode, before all the JunpAIN begins lmao

Jake White

I still cannot get over the fact you chose your pfp to be Child Grisha learning the news about his little sisters death lmfao

benj

Takana! O K A K A

_ scüp

I even heard they watched a movie together once.

The character writing in this series is what seperates this battle shounen from Demon Slayer. Pretty much everything else in both shows, from the OP/ED's, OST, animation quality, worldbuilding/lore, and other aspects are equally great. But, the philosophies of pretty much all these JJK characters in this massive incredible cast is just higher quality and more nuanced writing than in KnY. The conversations between Nanami and Mahito this episode are amazing, and everything with Junpei is super compelling.

I wonder where that scar comes from PepeLaugh

benj

Well the author of jjk is friends with tatsuki Fujimoto (chainsaw man), and I know for a fact that Fujimoto is a huge film buff

Kinne Rathler

The teacher that visited Junpei came to tell him that his "friends" had died when, in fact, he was referring to his three bullies.

Athena

It’s also why Gojo’s one of the only very few special grade sorcerers to exist and every special grade curse still basically looks like a joke compared to him lol

Jake White

Geto is the monk with a scar across his forehead

Branch haver

I swear, Mahito is like if Shigaraki and Envy had a baby.

Chris Sharpe

By the way, with the sorcerer grading, they are explicitly graded based on what curse they can handily defeat, so a sorcerer of a certain grade is about as strong a a curse one grade above. That explains why Nanami, a first grade sorcerer, can fight evenly with Mahito, a special grade.

Chris Sharpe

This arc is about to become awesome very shortly. Can’t waiiiit

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

I think I got that straight after this ep thankfully

Alex G

The blue haired villain you keep calling Geto is named Mahito. Geto is the black haired villain we saw with the volcano guy.

Megan

Also, yeah right there with you. I instantly loved Junpei as a character on first watch cause he’s such a sweet, inquisitive, thoughtful kid that you can clearly tell he’d be protagonist levels of awesome if he didn’t have to suffer near constant bullying and harassment tbh.

Jake White

I love what you said about bullying, there is something so beautiful about seeing someone talk about and indulge in their interests, and for someone to strip them of that for no real reason is always painful to see ://

The most powerful things on earth: militaries, natural disasters, viruses, etc. ....and at the very top of that list...anime middle/high school clubs in Japan

Jake White

Sorry for the super late post! Dealing with wifi connections of various quality as I travel
