“The author is winning and I’m getting paranoid” yeah same lol

Ashley A.

Yes! Just take all of them haha

Alex G

Lol sorry, I've heard that before and thought I had addressed the issue, but it's a different smudge (actually it's chipped paint). I put some white tape over it today so hopefully that solves that

Alex G

not sure if you noticed, but annie was in that flashback when ymir ate marcel

juice box!

The way Historia's voice and face changes while she's flying in to hug Ymir and than just gets eaten is hilarious lmfao. She goes from joyful happiness to joyful shock, imagine going in for a titan hug and than you just get swallowed. Also the way her one leg is just sticking out of Ymir's perked lips is hilarious, that whole sequence is genuinely funny.

benj

remembering your iconic "just take him" quote about eren from season 1. this is another one of those moments lmao

Lulu

Does Ilse's note make more sense now? Also, rewatching this is crazy because they give away so much information!

Yusuf

You hate them crackers lol

Hey! Just a reminder that Ymir said she was in titan form for 60 years, that means her flashback was roughly 65 years ago! (Because you said old timey) also, and I’m sure someone else must’ve commented this by now, but look at the crowd of people that bow to ymir more closely, and you’ll see a face that might seem familiar. (Ilses Notebook)

If you don't fully watch the entire series again once you finish, definitely make a note to rewatch this episode.

Aidan Pullen

Oh MY god...... This episode is so cool watching for the second time. There are so many references to things packed in here that are revealed later and it makes me so happy knowing they had all this stuff planned out so well. Can't wait for you to keep theorizing and unraveling things!

Aidan Pullen

First we had time travel and now a multiverse, this rewatch is maybe better than the first time. Jokes aside, this is the first time that they show a glimpse of the real story, can't wait for next two episodes.

Carlos Salazar

there is a little gray spot on the wall behind your left shoulder and it makes me think there is a smudge on my computer, it fakes me out at least twice a vid.

Nick Deano

I've been hoping to watch No Regrets for a few weeks now, but things keep coming up. Wow I just realized season 2 is almost over!

Alex G

Wow. I honestly really do appreciate this show even more rewatching it. I just can't wait for when you get caught up and you can go back to some of these episodes. There is a lot in this episode that you're not supposed to understand yet. It's basically the signature AOT lore tease tactic. That's really all I have to say, can't wait for the next 2 eps and then season 3. By the way, you might want to watch No Regrets before starting season 3, but I'm not totally sure on that. Also, the season 3 opening for part 1 is still totally fine to watch, just look out for part 2's opening.

Nick

This episode made me appreciate her a lot more. As I said I like that they didn't sugar coat her character really - she IS imperfect, but they made her sympathetic at the same time.

Alex G

ahhhh I love Ymir!!! This is probably my favorite flashback, her story is so sad but also so beautifully drawn and written. I feel like I always come back to watch this episode and the episode before there's so much information given. Also I love Historia and Ymir's relationship I feel like the writing for characters and their flaws are so realistic and I kind of like how they are written as imperfect and selfish.

meg

yeah my first watch it caught me so off guard because I never noticed Bertholdt as a character let alone how he feels about Annie lol. It just felt kind of out of left field but I guess they do show him looking at her a bit.

meg

Well, it was super effective

Alex G

Yes! definitely watch before season 3 as the first arc covered in that season has a major Levi focus as well as a pretty big Erwin focus

a. tree

Actually, Bethold's feelings for Annie are real (not a smokescreen). If/when you do a rewatch, I would highly reccomend reading the manga along with it. Studio WIT is great at adapting this, but they leave out a lot of information and character dialogue that can sometimes make moments (like Bethold's feelings) confuse a watcher.

themightyabe

And I really love that about Goodwin. He understands nuance, and tends to observe these scenarios outside of the typical black and white view most reaction channels fall into. It makes me even more excited for the rest of the show to come!

Aaron Ong

Just a heads up with Season 2 coming to a close, I wanted to remind you to try and watch the No Regrets OVA before you start Season 3! It really comes in handy.

Aaron Ong

I really don’t understand all the computer stuff you just said but I can’t get full screen on my ipad so you’re not alone.

Megan

Bruh 100% Some scenes in this episode I'm questioning how I didn't put it together.

War2244

Wow, i never saw it that way. That’s such a long time

Katrina Vieira

Ugh the music in this episode is so good. The OST “Call of Silence” is one of my favorites. To me it makes sense that Ymir’s distrustful of people. The same people that worshiped her for years turned around and betrayed her as soon as they were in danger. She didn’t have any parenteral figures so she was basically raising herself in a cult.

Megan

I do be loving the fact that they start dropping random titan things like "coordinate" now just to continue to confuse the audience XD

Brimmy

I think your the only person on the planet that is confused who to route for haha

hays collins

You're right about how unconventional Isayama's storytelling style with SNK is and this being a show and an episode that radically changes your understanding/perspective on rewatch. Considering how conflicted you are now about who to root for I'm really interested to see your take on the coming seasons. Also i appreciate you giving bertholdt his props as someone who's had a lot on his shoulders with keeping the mission going, keeping reiner stable and his crush currently being a crystal. Guess we have to pin our hopes for successful romance on Ymir and Historia, surely one eating the other is a simple wrinkle to resolve

malikparah

65 years passed between ymir's flashback and the present day

Stephen

I'm the only one having some issues with streamable? i've a 16Mbits connection speed with optic fiber, i watch everything at 1080p (or 4k sometimes in yt or netflix) just fine including streamings but i've only been able to watch streamable videos at 360p uninterrupted, i know this is a solution due to all what happened with vimeo so of course i mean no rush, just wanted to let you know that this happens to at least me (my theory is that streamable may not have a server in south america where i'm from if this doesn't happen to most of the people) again, just saying this to give you some feedback, no rush

Rodrigo Torres

Yes I was just about to comment that!

Megan

This is a small little detail that I think is fine to point out given the one of the conclusions that you've reached which was all but explicitly confirmed in this episode, so I think it's fine to say — the person in Ymir's cult with the short yellow hair who was next to her when she got kicked off the wall? That's the titan from the Ilse's Notebook OVA.

a. tree

Them: This is ur man? Him @ 6:27 Me: Yup... that’s mine...

Katrina Vieira

On my first watch through of this show this episode confused THE FUCK out of me. Literally couldn't get this episode out of my head for a while until you know, I watched more AOT. But Holy shit man this one threw me off for so long, not sure if other people agree with this. On rewatch its hilariously clear to me now.

benj

This is my first rewatch of the show and it’s crazy how blunt/obvious the dialogue is this time, but without the proper context it’s so difficult to actually get what they’re talking about

Rebecca

Dang you going all SYFI with these predictions haha

hays collins

Ooooh I loved this episode when you rewatch it after finishing the anime

SirLagginton

I've been waiting for this one. Turn it up!
