So I have news that you may find disappointing: the release of the new animation has been pushed back from February 2020 to April.
I'm pretty bummed out about this, because keeping a tight schedule was a main goal for this project. But instead of taking 4-6 months like I had planned, this anim will take about 9 months (like the previous episode did). Expect a release date trailer + special offer to come out towards the end of February.
I didn't stick to my original art direction (a strict visual style established at the beginning of the project), and allowed the production quality to balloon (see the above graph). The more and more I've worked on GG vs Oxob, the more FX and lighting I wanted to add. So I did. The story also has gotten more detailed and rich.

Adding on more team members has definitely helped me stay on top of things, but it comes with overhead costs that I did not account for: Stuff like contract writing, payment, revisions, training/trouble-shooting, and most costly of all - art direction.
I did not expect how long it takes to write notes and direct others how I want a drawing to look! So my delegation skills still need work.

No spoilers in this scene, just out of context fighting.
We are 65% done with the animation overall, and still at 70% for the storyboards. Production momentum is still steady, but we are headed into the climax + resolution to the short film. There are very complex scenes coming up and I hope, with this extra time, we'll make this animation even more impactful.
People keep saying "take your time" to me when it comes to my work, but I am starkly aware that it's not just "my time". Every month that I spend on this project is time + money from patrons. So I hope you believe me when I say that I must make this release worth the wait.
As always, thank you for your support.
