【1888×2800】【Bird/Rubber/Encasement】 最初期の頃のスウツ絵を塗り直しました。 生体スウツの世界観のベースとなる絵だったので今でも思い入れが深い１枚です。 ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー まだ、この研究所が「生体スウツ研究所」という名称になる前の話。 人体にフィットし、着用時の不快感を低減させる新たなラバー素材を開発していた頃のこと。 「自分では決して脱げない状態にした上で、飼い主に従順な鳥人タイプのラバーのペットが欲しい」 「ベースとなる人間はこちらで用意する。納得のいくものができるまでは何人でも使っていい。だから心配なく研究に没頭してほしい」 とあるクライアントからこのような依頼が届いたのである。 一線を越えた依頼だったのは明白であったが、提示された金額は開発費としての前金だけで当時の研究所の職員全員が一ヶ月生活できるほどの大金であり、新たな研究の礎になるかもしれない、という研究者の本能ともいえる探究心を刺激する内容はリスクを差し引いてもとても魅力的であった。 ・・・それからしばらくして、クライアントの要望に応える形で鳥人型のラバースーツがいくつも試作された。 背面のファスナーのスライダーが自動で破壊されるタイプ、遅効性の接着剤を内部に浸透させたタイプ、開口部を溶接してしまうタイプなど。 いずれの試作品も実際に人に着せて脱げなくさせる実験で性能テストを行った。 ある者は精神的な不安に耐え切れずに自我が崩壊し暴れまわり、 またある者は廃人のように言葉を発しないまま動かなくなった者もいた。 何度試作品を開発しても一向に成果は見られず、打開策が見出せないまま研究は進展が無く平行線を突き進んでいた。 研究室に隣接している倉庫には、日に日にラバー姿の鳥人間が増えていったのである。 ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー This was still before the institute was named the "Biomedical Rubber Suit Institute". This was when the institute was developing a new rubber material that would fit the human body and reduce discomfort when worn. 'We want a bird-man type rubber pet that can never take itself off and is obedient to its owner.' 'We will provide the base human. You can use as many people as you like until you have something you are satisfied with. So, please devote yourself to your research without any worries." A client sent us a request like this. It was clear that this was a request that crossed the line, but the amount of money offered was large enough for the entire staff of the institute at the time to live on for a month, just from the advance payment for development. The risk was worth it. ... Some time later, a number of prototypes of a bird-man rubber suit were made in response to the client's request. One type had a back zipper slider that automatically destroyed itself, another had a slow-acting adhesive that penetrated the inside, and another had the opening welded on. All of the prototypes were tested for performance in experiments where people were actually made to wear them and not be able to take them off. Others became motionless without speaking, as if they were cripples. No matter how many prototypes were developed, no results could be seen, and the research continued to progress along a parallel track without any breakthroughs being found. The warehouse adjacent to the laboratory had more and more birdmen in rubbers every day.
