For what it's worth the public health response has been all but dismantled as omicron came around. In large part I believe it's proved less severe than earlier variants (partly due to widespread population vaccine+natural immunity from earlier waves/variants). Closures are gone. Mask requirements is almost entirely absent except in healthcare settings (and even then they are slowly going away). Covid vaccine mandates are also going away (though I'm sure some will linger). The entire vaccine regime is being reconsidered at the moment. It's likely to just be a yearly shot like the flu shoot and the whole initial two dose ("fully vaccinated") being eliminated entirely. Depending on how covid mutates I wouldn't be surprised if, like the flu shot, most people won't bother getting the yearly shot except the most vulnerable or during really bad variants/covid "seasons" (if the damn thing ever actually gets a seasonal pattern). As far as vaccine injuries I do think they are taken seriously (we saw with J&J and AZ side effects as front page news ended up being removed entirely/not recommended for certain groups). For them to be taken seriously we need actual studies and research not fearmongering docs with clips of basketball players collapsing and autopsies of corpses with blood clots from 2018.

Okay. Agreed about Americans being so sick prior to covid. Still, the only way to end the vaccine debate is to address vaccine injuries and not have vaccine mandates. I’m not saying to ignore covid. However at this point for most people covid presents as a cold (omicron). And for most people, even Americans, colds are not deadly. Also, the covid vaccine is/was experimental. It did not go through the usual years of testing for safety and efficacy. Still I love QAA and appreciate Dr. Dan on the show. I’ll subscribe to his socials.

We're an unhealthy country with an aging population. Covid coming around is like knocking down a house-of-cards (in terms of fragile health) for millions of people all at once. So many people being so vulnerable when a novel virus comes around which specifically puts them at risk makes me think we should take it more seriously and not less.

I hear what you’re saying, but I disagree. I don’t think covid vaccine and vaccine concerns have been adequately addressed or dealt with. I mostly listen to leftist podcasts, such as QAA, of which I am also a proud patron, some others too. And I don’t expect all of them to be in 100% agreement. They’re humans just like us. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt you’re approaching this from a good faith perspective.

Concerns have been and continue to be addressed by reputable and independent sources all over the world. If you weren't dwelling in your echo chamber of fringe cranks and political actors you'd know this. Though I highly doubt you're coming at this in good faith anyway.
