Hidden Details: The Cat in the Can

Welcome to the eighty-ninth episode of the Hidden Details blog!

Have you found some obscure reference or detail in this comic? A JoJo reference? A sneaky little Loss? A callback to a previous comic? Let us know what you've found in the comments! Every detail that has been found will be added to the list below. Once everything has been found, this comic will officially be marked with "all details found".

Please only comment with ONE hidden detail or reference!

There ONE Loss, ONE Balthazar, and ONE JoJo reference. Bonus panels don't count.

1: Kazuya did indeed bring his own handcart/wheelbarrow, Cherry. We know it's his because he decorated it with some sweet-ass flames, just like the ones on his pants.
2:
There's a KEEP OUT sign on the basement door, probably written by Sakurai. Correct, Cameron Devera.
3:
As previously commented, the cans in the basement in the second panel were indeed meant to be Inkling ink cans, but people on Twitter thought they were an Among Us reference. Glad you noticed it, Phloxiana.
4:
There's also a box with Trophies in the basement, since they are indeed sitting unused after Smash switched to Spirits (RIP). Good catch, John Hattan.
5:
The weekly loss is found in the tallies on the prison wall. You found it this week, Dirtydan8991.
6:
There's a ball of yarn in Incineroar's cell, probably to give the big cat something to do. What does Waluigi have to do with a ball of yarn, other than also being purple, Erin?
7:
Haha yes, thanks for noticing Trigger! Not only did I put Balthazar in this week's comic, but also Zaza (one of my chickens) and her chicks, since they were born while I was making this comic.
8:
As mentioned, Balthazar is there as well, in the sixth panel, to the right. Good catch, Tejayes.
9:
Yep, the seventh panel is indeed a reference to the "THE WHAT" meme, CSDX! Weird how no one seemed to notice, huh?

10:
Captain Falcon's buns of steel are very clearly visible as a bit of fanservice.
11: Lucas is indeed depicted as a realistic crying boy, Marwan Abunura. It's a parody on those kitschy crying gypsy boy paintings you can get for very cheap:

12: Yeah, the "LOSER" graffiti is becoming a bit of a tradition, huh? You can see it once more on Incineroar's cell wall. Good catch, Luke.
13: Yes!! Incineroar mentions Revenge, which is one of his moves in Smash (and Pokémon)! Glad you noticed, Youmg!

After one week, I'll reveal all the details that haven't been found. These ones are written in italic.

Hidden Details: The Cat in the Can

Comments

Incineroar talks about getting "some sweet Revenge" which is his down special

Youmg

The roster "screen" is stills from previous comics (like Leaf is from the Zoom Call one)

Pokedude14

I'm amazed nobody got this so far, but the 7th panel I believe is a reference to the meme of the lady going "the" in one panel and then the 2nd one it zooms in on her face and she goes "what", usually to something shocking and/or horrifying. If you want a link of an example, I can give you one or a few.

CSDX

krool was behind incineroar after he pulled them out also kazuyas eye was miscolored for 2 panels when he finds incineroar

GainingGamer

Lucas' portrait is a baby

YES and they are not, as someone on Twitter said, "sus".

Wooden Plank Studios

I bet those paint cans are reserves for the Inklings because those match their colors.

Phloxiana

Muscular Cat is still bandaged from when Kirby shot him in the knee.

Zach

Incineroar was playing with a knit ball cause he is a cat 🙀

Giwrgos Gyftopoulos

Maybe Kazuya saying "Everyone was dead" is a reference to the "Everyone is dead" meme from World of Light?

Balthazar is visible from the cell window on the right (Panel 6).

Tejayes

Kazuya has his own wheelbarrow.

Cherry

Realistic Lucas photo in the semi final panel

kirbystarwarrior

incineroar has a purple ball of yarn reminiscent of waluigi in his cell!

Erin

Loss in the tally marks in the cell

Dirtydan8991

The “Keep Out” sign is written by Sakurai!

Cameron Devera

The Waluigi ‘Loser’ graffiti makes a reappearance, this time in Incenroar’s cell

Luke

The basement has some trophies, because they were replaced with spirits and aren't being used any more.

John Hattan

Zaza and her three adorable chicks can be seen through the window in the 6th panel.
