Phew, a regular ol' one-page comic! I gotta say, it's nice to make one of these again after the pure chaos that was the Everyone is Celebrating panel. There aren't that many hidden details in this one, but enough to write a happy little blog about. First off: the title is very very clever, if I may say so myself. It's a play on the title of Ridley's reveal trailer, "A Piercing Screech".

To start with an easy one: yay, another Smash-logo-window! I can't keep track of how many of those I've drawn.

The gun that Waluigi is holding is a Ray Gun from Smash Bros. Knowing this makes the comic a little less dark since this thing just fires a weird laser beam that stuns you for a moment.

The most of the hidden details in this comic, though, are hidden in the windows of the house:

Almost every character is a reference to the Everyone is Celebrating poster.
Joker is enjoying a cup of espresso he made with his new espresso machine:

Pac-Man has decorated himself with his new ribbon, since he thinks it's a new costume:

Pikachu is going around solving crimes with his new Detective Pikachu hat and magnifying glass:

In the fourth panel, you can see even more Smash characters enjoying their presents:

On the top floor, you can barely make out that Ivysaur and Squirtle swapped their gifts. Ivysaur is now wearing Squirtle's shades and Squirtle is drinking Ivysaur's beer:

On the ground floor, you can see Cloud enjoying his new tunes:

And Dedede has confiscated Jigglypuff's marker since she drew all over everyone:

If you look to the right of Ridley, you can see Mr. Game & Watch and the new Ms. Game & Watch doing some eh... questionable things. God I hope nobody notices that part, lol. If anyone asks: they're hugging!

In the second to last panel, you can see Toon Link enjoying Grandma's soup:

And lastly, there are a few details in the garbage can in the final panel:

Particularly, the presents of the two fighters who didn't enjoy their presents that much. Mega Man, who got Mighty No. 9 for Wii U and Meta Knight, who got a Kirby Paper Mask Set, threw their presents in the trash:

And that's it! As I said, it's a short one today, but I won't lie to you: I needed it. I'm currently trying to get some shuteye and play some Smash Bros before going full steam ahead again. Still, I hope you've enjoyed this happy little blog. See you all next week! And if you start work again next week as well: good luck, you can do this!
Cheers!
