Hidden Details: Everyone is Celebrating - the FINAL PANELS

All the panels have been revealed in yesterday's blog post and if you can read this, you can read yesterday's post as well, so here are the hidden details you might have missed in these final panels.

Mewtwo's present is his armor from the first Pokémon movie. Giovanni uses it to restrict Mewtwo's powers and use him as an unbeatable trump card in his gym:

Getting a suit of armor that restricts your power might feel like an insult, I agree, but it looks super badass, so I like to believe this present is just a replica to make Mewtwo look even cooler than he already is.

Also, Ness is attacking Mewtwo because he looks looks EXTREMELY similar to Giegue/Giygas, the main villain of Earthbound:

The reference is a bit obscure though, so I just made Mewtwo think Ness mistakes him for a piñata. And to be honest, Mewtwo kinda looks like a piñata so I don't blame Ness.

Not much hidden details going on in this panel, but I did think the "Poltergust 10k Pro" name of Luigi's new vacuum cleaner was kinda funny. Also, people apparently thought I hid Loss in the weights on Robin's scale, but if there IS Loss in there, it's not on purpose. People are starting to see Loss everywhere these days, lol.

Samus and Snake's presents are references to their breasts and buttocks being toned-down/nerfed in Ultimate, respectively. Samus gets a new push-up bra (from the quality Croft brand, named after one of the most well endowed female icons of gaming) and Snake gets InstaBun buttocks padding. Snake seems to be more interested in the box the presents came in, though. Also: Samus has little Metroid-slippers! Female Corrin getting a Ryoma body pillow is a reference to the… "wild" nature of the possible relationships you can create in Fire Emblem Fates. Ryoma is supposed to be Corrin's brother, but don't think for a minute the game forbids you to start a romantic relationship with him. There's all sorts of excuses involving adoption and not being blood-related but it's a WEIRD game nonetheless with some WEIRD possible relationships. Good game though!

Ike and Buff Ike (a reference to the Roster Imposter comic) get a little blue kitten called Ranulf. Ranulf is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, and a close friend to Ike. Also, he can turn into a blue cat.

Not many hidden details in this panel either, but the Snow Beam Samus got as a present is a unique beam. You can find a bunch of different Ice Beams across the Metroid/Metroid Prime series, but I don't think I've ever found a Snow Beam. Also, people on Instagram asked me how there can be two Samuses, to which I'd like to respond: there's two Ikes, Corrins and Robins as well, so don't worry about it too much. If you do want an explanation, just imagine this is just a suit with nobody inside, propped up to create blizzards for the Ice Climbers.

"HI I'M DAISY" is Daisy's main quote, just like Wario's "WAAAH", which is why she's screaming it into the megaphone. Roy gets a similar sword as Marth, but since Roy's sword does more damage at the base instead of the tip, his sword is literally all base.

The flowers that Sheik and Zelda are holding are Silent Princesses from Breath of the Wild. I'd really like to give you an explanation on why there's some beautiful symbolism going on here, but I'm gonna be honest with you and tell you I haven't played Breath of the Wild yet, so I don't know the proper explanation for this present. Somebody on Reddit suggested it and I thought it sounded nice. Palutena's present is a book called "How To Teach Your Child To Read!", which is a reference to Pit's quote in Kid Icarus Uprising when he crashes and screams "I never learned how to reaaaaaad!". He screams the same thing when you star-KO him in Smash Ultimate!

Piranha Plant getting a huge salt shaker is a reference to the dumbfounded reaction of pretty much the complete Smash community when he was revealed. Lots of people where expecting the characters from the Grinch leak, so when Piranha Plant of all characters was revealed, lots of people were pretty upset. Hence the salt. Ridley is holding a pirated copy of Smash Ultimate since he is a space pirate! And, you know, in Smash!

Shulk's present is bottle of Sleek Oil. He has stripped and is now covering himself in the stuff. In Xenoblade Chronicles, you can find/buy all kinds of oil that often give you BETTER stats than actual armor, which is a bit weird, but pretty funny as well. This is also why Shulk has a costume with only his boxershorts on in Smash, by the way! Male Corrin gets another body pillow with another sibling for Fire Emblem Fates, only this time it's Camilla instead of Ryoma. Incineroar being obsessed with R.O.B.'s laser is a reference to him being a cat AND the comic in which he realizes he is a cat, I Can Has Diagnosis? I wanted to give him a new collar with a little bell on it, but his pose is a bit annoying to show a collar properly. So I decided to put his present somewhere on the ground, abandoned, but I forgot! I'm on a vacation now, so I can't add it, but I'll try to add it in the final version of the poster once we print it! Can't have a newcomer NOT getting a present now, can we?

Pac-Man considers the ribbons from his present as the actual present: another alternate costume. This is a reference to Pac-Man having seven VERY uninspiring costumes in Smash. It looks like he wrapped some colored ribbons around his arms and legs, which is a shame, in my opinion. He should have a Ms. Pac-Man costume!

In this panel, Pichu is finally revealed as the thief of Richter's present, which is a flaming whip. Pichu is into self-harm in my comics. If you didn't know yet, you should read the previous comics since this is an ongoing gag since one of the very first Everyone is Home episodes. I really enjoyed drawing the Wii Fit Trainers with their new expressive faces, but the female Wii Fit Trainer's present is a neat little reference as well: it's the helmet of Solaire, a character from Dark Souls! Solaire is known for his pose and his frequent praising of the sun, which is something Wii Fit Trainer likes to do as well. He/she has a move called Sun Salutation.

There will be a bunch of neat little additions to the exterior of the house in the final version of the poster. One of them is Master Hand/Crazy Hand (pick one) just outside of Captain Falcon's "room". He does a peace sign and is wearing five different winter hats on his fingers. Cute, huh?

The Grinch, in his Santa outfit, has fallen from the roof and is now buried in the snow just outside the left ground window. He is, of course, a reference to the infamous Grinch leak.

In the right top corner, you can see Galeem, the main antagonist of World of Light. I haven't finished World of Light yet so I don't know if this guest appearance… "fits", but I sure hope so!

Outside of Wii Fit Trainer's window, you can see Master Hand/Crazy Hand trying to impress Madama Butterfly's hand by giving her a rose. You know, since they're both giant demonic hands.

And lastly, I couldn't forget the Smash community's favorite meme right now: Waluigi. He is disguised as a snowman and STILL tries to get into the Everyone is Home-house, just like he did in previous comics. He was originally supposed to be looking through the windows in the bottom left corner, but people already predicted him being there, so I moved him to the right and gave him a snowman costume. I like to be unpredictable.

Lastly, I have hidden a few more details in the bonus comic that I will upload January 1st. Check out yesterday's Progress Pictures to view it in its entirety.

Mario has a black eye because Peach has hit him in the head with a new frying pan:

Isabelle uses her fishing rod to lift Sakurai's head from the table. She uses that fishing rod in het side-B in Ultimate. Don't ask me where the hook is attached because that can only be super painful.

In the final two panels, Sakurai is dreaming peacefully. In the first panel, he dreams about "patches without changelogs". Smash is known to be updated without any clear changes listed, leaving fans to grasp and guess what's different. Smash Ultimate has very recently gotten an update without a changelog, as a matter of fact. In the second panel, Sakurai dreams about "even more Fire Emblem characters". Sakurai has often been accused of favoring Fire Emblem fighters over others, since there are seven Fire Emblem fighters in the game.

And I think that's it! I'm really not sure because drawing this poster has been a chaotic journey so there's a bit chance I've missed something, but I sure hope I've been able to entertain you a bit. I'll be back next week with a "regular" comic and "regular" Hidden Details. Once again, thank you for reading the weird musings of a weird nerd and have a wonderful weekend! Be careful with fireworks on New Year's eve!!

Cheers!

Hey, is there any way we could get a higher quality image of the final product? Even the Twitter one is rather pixelated.
