My Covenant - The Vicious Vampire Queen: Chapter 10

Selene

I watched on in pleasure as this stupid man was about to charge into me when a literal nuclear warhead was about to go off behind me. During this whole ordeal, the strength of Shuka’s aura was growing, closely rivaling mine, and possibly even surpassing it. Does she get more power the more pissed off she is? I pondered.

With a fluid motion, I jumped into the air, completing a backflip and landing perfectly on my feet right where Shuka was just standing. She had charged forward with fury, piercing the man with such force it drove him through the opposite wall of the guild. That guy was definitely not prepared for that, I chuckled.

Static Crash

Shuka had coated herself in lightning, blasting herself as soon as I gave an opening, connecting her fist straight into his face. The electrifying atmosphere that enveloped the area and the force of the punch sent a small shockwave throughout the vicinity. Before he was sent flying, I could see his head rotate one hundred and eighty degrees. He learned the hard way to never pick a fight with someone just because they might look weak.

While everyone was looking at the wall, I saw that Shuka’s hood had completely blown off her head. I hurriedly ran over to her and flipped the hood back on with a hug from behind to calm her down. The extreme intensity flowing throughout her body was thrilling to experience.

“Great job, my beastkin beauty.” I whispered into her ear. At my words, she instantly calmed down as I looked at the faces of everyone inside the guild hall. They all had a shocked expression, except for the four adventurers’ who were in that guy’s party. It was about to go down with the glares we were receiving.

“Enough!” A loud, booming voice commanded from the second-floor balcony.

The force I was feeling off this person was the highest I’ve felt in my short time in this world. I wonder if that person was an S-rank adventurer. The better question being, what the scale of strength in this world is and how far I am from the top.

“Everyone, go back to what you were doing, and you two come with me.” She was pointing at us. For someone to claim the guild master position, they must have at least this much strength. It gets me a little excited.

The crowd around our current location was evacuated in an instant as the woman on the second floor glared down at us. I saw no reason to pass up a chance to make a connection with this person; we both headed up.

I saw a perfect opportunity. The guild master looked like she used to be an attractive woman, but now she’s lost an arm and has only one working eye. If I can get her to join me willingly with healing, that would be ideal.

I’m surprised someone like her didn’t take advantage of the healing potions that were made from my blood by the Pope. The price must have been outrageous, or she could possibly be the type to accept those injuries as some kind of badge of honor.

The other thing that was very interesting was the long ears protruding from her head, which exclaimed, I’m an elf." Shuka mentioned that the Elves and Humans had a neutral relationship. I wonder what her story is to work in their territory.

Shuka and I sat on one side of the two couches in the room. The guild master elf sat on the opposite side, directly across from us. She kept a stern look locked onto us as Shuka leaned into my body in obvious discomfort at her gaze.

“So, what are the ninth princess and a beastkin wolf doing in this city?” She asked as both Shuka and I had question marks over our heads. “As of today, you’re the most wanted person in the Tilum Kingdom.” The elf pointed in my direction and then dropped a piece of paper on the table that separated us.

Looking at what was said on the paper, I couldn’t help but grin widely. To think he would go this far to get someone he literally threw away eight years ago.

‘Bounty: Ninth princess—one million gold, must be alive.’ A picture of my face was drawn above, but it looked much younger than my current appearance. I was kept in seclusion, so my actual identity would not be known by most people.

That greedy bastard isn’t after me because he cares, but for what I can provide with those potions. Fuck that man! In the future, the only chance he will get to view my appearance will be when I start taking apart his life one step at a time.

“That was a lot faster than I expected, but nothing that concerns me.” I said with confidence. There must be some type of magic to send out information because it’s only been a little over a day since the initial incident. “Are you showing me this because you intend to cash in?” Both Shuka and I tensed our bodies at my words as we waited for the elf to respond.

There was the slightest crack of the lips as the elf took the paper from my hands and tossed it aside. “I would be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted, but I have no interest in helping the Tilum kingdom in the first place.”

“Oh? What do you mean by that?”

“Well… for the longest time, elves have tried to stay out of any political involvement with any country. Neutrality was what we lived by and believed in. That was until our people started to go missing. After an intense investigation of the surrounding territories around our home, we found out all clues point towards the Tilum Kingdom.” Her look was stern, and her words heavy as her aura rose.

The air in the small room became extremely uncomfortable, along with breathing becoming labored. This elf in front of us was powerful! She could easily kill both of us if she truly wanted to.

“Are you trying to say the enemy of my enemy is my friend?” I asked, intrigued.

“That comes pretty close to what I was thinking.” For the first time she gave a small smile. “We’ve got elves stationed all throughout this kingdom, but it’s hard to actually infiltrate the capital. Elves stand out too much.”

“Wait, does that mean the other cities surrounding Tilum are also occupied by adventurer guilds that are run by elves?” I asked with slight annoyance at my plan going up in flames. If they also have power rivaling this one, I won’t have an easy time taking over.

After some thought, the elf spoke, “No, we all used different methods of infiltration to get into the capital and find our missing kin. I’m the only guild master who comes from our race.

I heaved a big sigh of relief at those words. “Um… what should I call you? I don’t want to just keep thinking of this elf in my head; I want to place a name to the face.”

“Fufu, you’re sure a straightforward one. You can call me Lyra.”

She sure gives off the big sister vibes, especially with that laugh. It’s extremely unlikely I will get the chance to dominate her, but I wonder if I could use her to get the other guild masters.

“Are you looking to cooperate with me for help in rescuing your people?” I asked quizzically.

“Yes, that’s correct. As long as you can help us get our people out, we will provide any support you need.”

A smile bloomed on my face as I stared at Lyra. “Can you get every surrounding city to send their guild masters to a certain location? Is there some kind of guild master meeting you guys do yearly or something?” I asked, getting excited at the possibilities.

“Hmm… it’s not impossible to do that, but why?”

Under the stern one-eyed elf, I laid out my plan. About my power to dominate individuals, putting them under my command and allowing them in return to have the same power. After controlling all the strong people in a city, then cut off the capital from their natural resources.

As soon as all the surrounding cities fall under my rule, I will act, and that should also allow elves to infiltrate the capital much easier.

“So, what do you think?” I ask with a bead of sweat washing down my forehead at the important negotiation. This could make or break my plan going forward. The force of elves could bring huge reinforcements that would be very beneficial in the future.

“I think it’s a sound plan that could work, but there is just one problem.” Lyra looked at me for a few seconds before continuing, “Two of the five other guild masters are at a level comparable to mine, but as you can see, I’m fighting at a disadvantage.”

That’s very true; missing an eye and an arm would very much hurt in an evenly matched fight. But this was a perfect opportunity to bring someone super powerful to my side if she would accept. I should at least try to acquire her.

“Well, I do have a method that could restore your eye and arm, but I’m not sure you would submit to it.” Of course I could tell her about my blood, but why would I do that when I could just dominate her and give healing that way?

She looked at me with some contempt at my words, “Are you saying you want to use this domination skill on me?” Lyra was skeptical of my words.

“My race is no longer human, and I have the ability to heal my own body. Everyone I dominate will also have a heightened healing ability that could easily restore your vision and arm. It would also give you a powerful boost of at least double your current strength. Good deal, right?” I couldn’t help but laugh maniacally in my mind.

“Oh really… What about that potion the Pope made from your blood?” She looked at us with a knowing glance.

“Can you really blame me for trying? To have someone as powerful as you would be a great addition, and through our connection, a mutual relationship with the Elves would be ideal. It’s not like I would force you to do anything against your will. The only thing I would enforce is that you wouldn’t betray.”

“Is that really all?” She sighed. “Would I really get back my arm and vision?”

I nodded,” Yes, you will with certainty, and you can trust me that I will never tell you to do something against your will. I would just ask you to dominate anyone in this city that is strong enough to join our side.” I gave my best car salesman smile. “Not to mention you will become practically immortal.” The look in her one eye widened at my words.

Elves are known to have long life spans, but I bet it’s not forever. If she truly values life and wants to live as long as she can, how can she pass this up?

The three of us sat in the guild master's office for a solid thirty minutes as Lyra battled with herself coming to a decision. Shuka and I just sat there cuddling with each other, taking in the warmth we both craved.

“Don’t you dare use blood bond on her.” Shuka whispered in my ear as she nibbled on my arm, breaking the skin slightly as she slurped up my blood. I couldn’t help but rub her fluffy ears at Shuka’s cute actions. Looking up at Lyra, I saw her stare at us in curiosity as Shuka glared at her.

“Beastkin’s are known to be very territorial, especially around the ones they love. She’s going to be a lot to handle in the future.” Lyra commented.

“That’s fine because our feelings are mutual.” I said with a smile. “I would absolutely kill anyone who approached her in a sexual way or treated her as anything lower than what she deserves.”

Lyra looked on at our interactions for a little while before I saw the resolve in her eyes harden; she had come to some kind of decision.
