Nintendo finally announced the 3D all stars collection, which I'm super hyped for. I've been wanting to replay Super Mario 64 for awhile now, but didn't want to pull the trigger and buy it on the Wii U since I didn't want to play it on the gamepad, nor did I want to invest in a Wii U Pro controller just for it. Getting it on the switch alleviates that issue! Plus it's about time for another Sunshine playthrough (last one I did was back in 2012), and I didn't want to buy that $150 HDMI adapter for my GameCube. Plus I'm hoping that Galaxy includes a way to play with the pro controller, because I'm not a fan of playing with the nunchuck controller set up. Hard to please. I know. But this collection solves all those problems. My only complaint is less on the collection itself, and more on the fact that Nintendo is making it a limited time release. After March 31st they're going back into the Nintendo Vault for who knows how long. I'm never a fan of keeping games locked away like that. If you plan to release it, at least make it available to purchase for the duration of the console's lifespan. If it's something like an online store closing up, then hey, fine. Not a fan of that either, but I can see why a company wouldn't want to keep an online store for a console that's been dead for years running. It probably costs money to keep those servers running (but honestly, how much does it cost to make sure there's server backups for people to redownload their titles down the line?) Really fucking dumb. But I'm buying it physical because I like having my shit in physical form if given the option. Another really dumb thing is that stupid Super Mario Bros. Game and Watch. A stupid handheld device that can only play Super Mario Bros 1 and 2. And Ball I guess. So 3 games that's been emulated to death, and available on a billion devices, and charging $50 for it. A game I own countless times over, with numerous ways to play it on. Legally, too! NES, SNES, Wii, 3DS. Only a stupid dummy would want that dumb thing. And I'm fucking stupid because that shit's fucking tight! I want it! It's my goddamn childhood and I have no shame in wanting a dedicated official Super Mario Bros. 1 device that I'll play a total of 10 minutes and then leave it in my closet for 10 years.
