signs of life

morning. dropping some proof that im working on something. most of this is recorded, just need to knock out the conclusion (probably gonna be loosely scripted, if that). for reference, final runtime should be hovers a bit over 90m. so 30x the length of this WIP.

was trying to polish the audio but i doubt ill be entirely satisfied w/ it by the time this is out.

speaking of which, cant say when i think it'll be public. 12/4 would be a great date relevant to the main subject of the video but idk if i'll pull it off. maybe i'll update again after the weekend's over. we'll see.

EDIT 11/30: got just under 20m of edits done. i realized a couple hours ago that said great date was actually 12/7 which makes it a bit more likely that ill knock this out on time. assuming i dont re-record everything from scratch, still got a few sections to redo after all the visuals are laid down. might throw a preview on twitter during the week.

I swear officer, I didn't mean to make another video about this show. This was purely a product of my own brainrot soup.

Wanted to have this ready for y'all before the final two episodes drop so I could start editing a much bigger project. Gonna make a couple tweaks and upload this sometime over the weekend, assuming the channel's back in good standing. Not really sure how many ppl who watch me also like this show but kudos for everyone being chill abt these. Back to business as usual for the next upload.

Hazbin Guaranteed

Hello! The latest video 'Predicting EVERY HAZBIN HOTEL SEASON 2 Controversy' is currently subject to a copyright takedown request. Counter notification has been sent in but in the meantime, I figured I'd throw the local file up on Patreon. Better option than reuploading to Youtube and potentially dealing with two strikes instead of just one. If worse comes to worse and the video stays down, this will be the only official home of the video. I'll expand visibility to non-patrons so everyone can still watch.

I might have the next video's WIP ready in a few days, but there will be no additional uploads to the channel until this is resolved. Thanks.

FIXED

Final draft of the next video; I think I fell into a groove w/ these essays on recent films so perhaps they'll be appearing more on the channel. some of the cuts might change and there's a couple things left to add but it's 97% done. Haven't landed on a title just yet, but the subject matter of the video probably made it easier to narrow down potential choices. Should be dropping within the next 24 hours, just gotta finalize some assets.

i often record sections of a script that are still being drafted and this was done a couple months ago; the structure and wording are def a bit different at this point, but the intro was closer to it final form which almost never happens lol

i want this out next week cuz there's a cache of stuff that's supposed to come out after it; not entirely sure how that timing will materialize, the runtime isn't final yet if you can believe it

part of why i had to push it back is bc of a potential affiliate opportunity

The False Woobification of HORRID HENRY - the noice cut

Horrid Henry video got claimed, dispute was rejected within 48 hours. It's going through the appeals process right now but if it fails, it gets taken down and the channel gets a strike. So, this is gonna be the official archive of it. As of now, this should be available to paid and free members; if the official Youtube upload goes down, this post will be made accessible to the general public.

Plans for the last 6 weeks of the year

ive been sick for close to a week now but at the current moment, im just lucid enough to remember that i should send this out lol

this is a list of stuff ive been planning to try and get out before 2024 is here: sofia the first, Stanley, Wishbone, Raccoons, small look at animated adapations of Gahan Wilson comics (the real halloween video), PaF S3 + 4, a couple of PaF assorted videos, untitled cartoon community video that's an offshoot of a script on 'animation is cinema', animation in award shows, etc

my main hard drive is dead which carried almost all of my assets and most of my existing video archive. the main components for StF were on an auxillary drive before this happened, so (in theory) it shouldnt affect its production too much. wanted to release it on the 18th but i think it'll be a couple days after that. stanley has to come out before the month ends tho, its been like three years since i started it lol

i wanna try and hit the meager goal of hitting 6k before the new year but it'll depend on how fast i can get all my files back. ill try and throw more BTS stuff in here in the next week or two.  can definitely show off some WIP thumbnails i was working on

Hey, finally buckled down and finished this. It's been stuck in copyright jail for a couple days. Been making slow progress throwing edits out left and right but I'm still working on it. It might drop tonight if I can help it but I didn't see a point in not showing y'all what I've been doing. I'll be sure to start seeding the Chili Dog feed with all the bits and bobs left over from this one.

i had just enough time to give yall some time with it before it's public; i might tweak a couple more things but this is pretty much a done deal

Season Two Ranking is dropping soon. Act Your Age ideally drops this upcoming weekend. This is the skeleton for the first part. It's looking like it's 90 minutes flat. Got a decent amount of B roll laid down but Part 4 is still cooking.
May might be slow, but there's one other quick thing I wanna knock out after this.
5 hour doc is being prepared rn, Titeuf is getting closer to being recorded.

Plans for the rest of the year

I recall saying I'd probably put something together resembling a slate for the year around this time; just had a week where I was able to plan for other videos and such so I did organize some ideas together. Based this off a template put together by animator Kevin Parry; pretty simple framework: you split projects up by 1. how long it'll take you to make and 2. who it'll appeal to. Some of these could lean into either category but I did my best to place 'em well.

In my head, I paired up Q1 and Q2 since the former's almost over and the latter's reliant on some carryover and maybe catching up on some current topics. Q3 is obviously stacked; those are things I know I could knock out fairly easily, either because I've already been plugging away at them for a minute or because of techniques I've picked up the past couple of months. I'll probably start releasing those in July. Q4 are the big doc type stuff I've been too intimidated to finish when i wanted to lol There's only like two ideas from that quadrant I haven't outlined in any sense.

Left a spot for PaF content that was always planned to go there but might be expanded a bit. I didn't wanna abandon the fun ideas I came up with so Imma just wait to do 'em in the summer. Obligatory video about the revival incoming post 5hr doc. By merit of getting everything out on the mark, I've failed spectacularly, but I think I've finally been able to tap back into peak content brain. I've been feeling whatever force allowed me to upload like I did in 2020 and early '21, so I'm thinking it'll come in handy moreso in the summer. The last couple videos especially I've been able to break down a couple barriers and make stuff I was proud of technically and conceptually while not succumbing to a suffocating production timeline. Even with the stagnation I've been in, realizing that I make stuff that I 100% would've wanted to watch all along is a huge weight off my shoulders.

Plan rn for the current stuff is to get through S4 and break until the five hour doc is done. I do wanna do the character analyses next week and maybe one or two more episode reviews since I've sitting on some audio. Otherwise my focus is on the season ranks so I can drop a master cut. I don't wanna seriously work on anything else until I can do that at least. S2 is 2/3rds of the way there. S3 is in editing too. S4... soonish I hope. For summer, the ratio of Phineas stuff to everything else should be 1:1.  That's it for now. I recognize I'm not great at Patreon; I've always been quick to switch work on ideas, concepts, etc or put stuff down for a while if I get into something else. That's part of the reason why the rewards aren't super reliant on me producing specifically for this platform. I do appreciate y'all being patient w/ me; most of y'all pledging already know me personally and were likely getting some idea of what I was up to independent of what I put up here. Nevertheless, I'm keeping whoever's here in the loop.

NEW PLAN

My last 3 weeks have been extremely weird and I didn't blitz this like I thought I would. I'm still determined to finish this sucker and I have a new game plan to see it through.

The ranking is gonna be split into four parts by seasons, likely dropping once a week; season one is done, running a final draft through checks rn and about 1/3 of the way through season two atm.

Shorter videos will live in between those big four; they're not as huge a priority, but I'm gonna try and stick to the daily format.

Once season four is out, I'm gonna re-edit and compile the parts into one complete package; in the original outline, there were intermissions that allowed me to talk about movies, spinoffs, etc so that'll be retained in the final cut. To keep it fresh, I think I'm also gonna retain the guest slots until that big drop (ive probably let 'em know by now).

Barring any potential extenuating circumstance, Season One's out tomorrow and it should be here 12+ hr before it goes live.

This'll roll us over into March but I have a branding plan for that too, but I'm focused on the bigger picture right now.

Update.

Some news broke yesterday that really hit home for me. Had some finishing touches I needed to put in between today and yesterday; it's unlikely it'll all be done in time. Not sure what'll happen over the next few days but I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the week felt like a slog.

So I figured it might make more sense to push it off a few. Monday most likely, Sunday if we're lucky. Whatever videos get capped by missing those first few days will likely roll over into the summer slate. Gonna throw out a teaser tomorrow.
Might give me a chance to throw an exclusive version on here too.

11 more days that i'll try to make the most of; making okay progress but there's a couple of segments i wanted to revise or wrap so that's eating up time

started an animatic. kind of related to work but not my most pressing task.

around this time last year, i dropped a list of stuff i wanted to do and i barely scratched the surface lol

i have a solid week in mid march where i can sit down and lay out my list for 2023
so by then I should be able to do that; gotta do more international content

if i pop back up before the 1st, it'll probably a thumbnail drop

Update Time

It's been too long but it seems like I'm kicking back into the swing of things.

I had a loose plan for the next week or two but I have to switch things up...

Sofia the First was slated for Nov. 18th; the final draft has been like halfway done for a while.

It wouldn't be impossible to get out on time but I have a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time. I think it's thematically important it gets out on the 18th.

So, it's gonna be my priority for the next two weeks or so. Well, that and writing for Stanley, which should be easy but I won't jinx it.

Ironically, P+F prep takes a back seat for a minute (writing for it is brutal).

Wanna give y'all a sneak peek of that in about a month.

Award shows video is on the table, it's just a matter of where it fits in.

So it's possible it might drop this week or next, but I can't put a date on it
