Finally finished this up yesterday, happy with how this came out. I knew I'd overdo the details when I started this one, the stars were right but everything else took more work, ha ha.
More later soon. Revisions on the polar bear/panda M&C figures, fixes on Fugazi, Spy vs Spy vs M&C pencils, roughs for the last few late commissions still remaining. haven't been able to draw any index card art lately, unfortunately.
I'm juggling work on the next Beasts of Burden script, which has been harder than I originally thought it would be, since it was plotted so long ago. Since then the new mini-series went from one-shots to a more traditional throughline with all issues furthering the Burden Hill story. Lost a lot of pages to catching up exposition and linking everything, plus, dropped a crossover story with the Wise Dogs and another creator's characters (another "fetch story, like the Hellboy crossover). Hopefully that can be done some other day.
Taking longer breaks for my stupid hand. Wrist brace, ice packs and Salonpas for the shoulder (Costco has a big box of Salonpas at a good price, fyi). My therapist keeps telling me to try getting a maassage but I never remember to make an appointment. Might go to the doctor, even though they never find anything specific, or have advice beyond rest. I haven't been in for a check up in a while, I'm of the age where I need to go in more often, so, I should do that. Yeah.
One nice thing about doing the coloring on commissions is I don't use a death grip on the markers like I do with pencils and pens. It's kind of relaxing, actually, unless I'm stumped on a color choice.
Got cold this weekend. I used to welcome the cold but I'm also at the age where I get chilly quicker. My studio is drafty. Winky sleeps on the radiator and sometimes on me. No matter how chilly it gets it's better working weather than summer. For me, at least.
Hope everyone's well.
More soon later.
