Rejected Fun Strip Panel From Rejected Fun Strip

Well, I know I thought the strip itself was a bad idea, because I trashed it before finishing the art for it. But I saved this completed panel because it was just too stupid to lose. Thank goodness it was saved from the wrecking ball, am I right? Wouldn't want this little gem to go into the recycling bin.
Anyway, here you go, "Hanes jaunty Rompers" with "Get-Up-And-Go Handy Wasp Pockets". I think it was all "worst underwear designs" or something random. I don't remember the other examples of this or that, but the strip didn't work, so, into File 13 it went.
I don't usually toss Fun Strips because I tend to reject the outright stinkers before they get to the layout/drawing stage. If they don't work in a rough form or even as a series of notes laid out in the four panel beats, the note gets crossed out or tossed. I try to be pretty rigorous with the straight gag stuff, even if I'm resorting to throwing things at the wall or understanding that a gag isn't super strong, there has to be a point or a certain 'something" to justify its existence in the comic or on the screen. Sometimes the set-up/title panel holds most of the (hoped-for) charm, sometimes it's just a good bashing of some subject, sometimes it's a visual bit that makes up for the weaker joke, sometimes it's just sheer stupidity that appeals to me on some level. World's worst underwear designs (or whatever it was called) crashed and burned, even with my liking this panel enough to keep it. The rest of the strip must have really stunk the house out.
