Dragonborn Religious Altar
Added 2018-04-26 06:37:19 +0000 UTCA while ago I made this design for a religious altar, in my campaign setting it is related to the Dragonborn. The basic idea was that the altar was used to summon or create a portal, by inserting four key gemstones into the cube structure built on top of the altar (can also be just one, but I had the 5th element in mind when creating this). Once the stones had been inserted, the stonework would activate and the entire platform would sink into the earth.
The measurements of this first design are quite massive, will take that down to create a map version of this. If people do still want to use the large form, you can just see the tiles as being 10ft or larger instead of 5ft.
I actually do have better drawings of this design, but this sketch really helps me to tell the story and mechanics of the altar. Function over Form in this one.

Ok I literally was just thinking of something like this! was trying to figure out how to incorporate an awesome temple that also lead into a mine.
