Question for all of Unit Bravo: “What were your thoughts when you saw Mason rushing to the side of the hurt detective after Murphy's show down?”

Felix’s lips quirk into a knowing smile, while Ava and Nat share a look that contains a whole conversation of unspoken words.

“I’ve…” Ava hesitates, checking the room to seemingly ensure Mason isn’t nearby. “I’ve never seen him quite so involved with any mission.”

“Mission? That's a mean thing to call the Detective,” Felix says with a sly chuckle.

“Felix…” Nat chides in a soft, parental tone.

The youngest vampire just shrugs. “What? We all know it had nothing to do with the mission and everything to do with the Detective being at Death’s door.” He scoffs. “Well, everyone except Mason, obviously.” His eyes widen in sudden panic, and he angles closer. “Just, you know, don’t tell him I said that. Say that Ava did. He won’t mess with her.”

Ava sighs, but Nat seems to be trying to hold back a smile.
